Posted by StapleButter Yep. From what I've heard, some people even make it a habit of trying to develop techniques to induce lucid dreams, such as "reality checks". One of them is something like regularly trying to push a finger through the palm of your hand (which obviously shouldn't happen in real life), to the point that you repeat this practice in your dreams as well. The intended effect is that your finger does go through your hand then, which triggers a conscious, lucid dream. Dunno if that stuff works, since I haven't tried it yet. ____________________ ![]() |

I've been getting a bunch of weird dreams lately, and the most recent one is from a couple of nights ago. All I really remember from it was what I'm assuming was a blue salamander that kept changing size at random, and that I had blurry vision and had to wear glasses... ____________________ ![]() Never use a flash drive unless you are transferring files... I had a dream last night where I walked out into the hall of my school's campus residence, and everyone was dead. Then there was this guy with a fucking toothbrush who was stroking people with it. Then they magically got giant stab wounds. What the fuck? ____________________ Layout thanks to the how to make a layout guide 'cause I'm lazy as fuck |

One was about a some big spider, it was maybe called snake spider. I didn't see it, but I had heard about it. It was big and it barked as a dog, and I was freaking out because what if you hear barking outside and open the door and a huge damn spider comes running in instead of a dog!
Another weird, recurring dream I have is I have to pee (because I have to IRL), but for some reason the toilet is a closet, laundry basket, just a hole in the floor, or something else unusual. Other times it's dark or so small I can barely move. Sometimes I have to sit on the toilet bowl, which is in the middle of a room with other people in it. I have no idea why I keep seeing that one. ____________________ Playing SMW hacks every now and then Twitch | Youtube | Hacks |

I hate getting dreams where you're trapped to your bed, you're screaming, and you don't even realize it was a dream until you ponder about it after you wake up because of how realistic everything is, down to the exact damn lighting of the room and same angle of your head. I think your eyes are actually open when this happens.

perhaps some weird state where you're actually awake but still paralyzed.
reminds me of those dreams I had sometimes where it felt like it was real, but, for example, it was overly dark, and stayed very dark no matter how many light sources were added or some kind of nested dream where the dream turns nightmarish, waking me up, but I wake up and jump to the light switch in the dream before actually waking up ____________________ NSMBHD - Kafuka - Jul what do you use to measure bolts? a boltmeter |

Posted by Baby Luigi Posted by StapleButter I believe that StapleButter is correct, and that what Baby Luigi is describing is what is known as sleep paralysis. In sleep paralysis, you are unable to move any part of your body, and oftentimes people hallucinate creatures lying on you/holding you down, or creatures in the corner of the room. I believe that I've experienced sleep paralysis once, but for the couple of seconds that I was in it I hated it as well. From what I've read (not from personal experience), some people try to intentionally enter sleep paralysis ("keeping the mind awake while the body goes to sleep"), and use the state as a gateway to dreams that feel much more distinct and real compared to lucid dreams, while potentially more frightening than sleep paralysis... ...it's also known as astral projection... That's where the discussion gets really strange. ____________________ ![]() |

The problem is, that while I'm on this state, I'm still aware that I'm not conscious, or, i'm in a "dream" state if you will. Any of the stuff that occurs during that part of dreaming is a dream except for the sight, which is exactly like the room.

I only remember two instances of sleep paralysis I've had, thankfully it doesn't seem to happen oftenly. One time I was sleeping and someone was about to shoot me in my dream (more of a nightmare) and I found myself unable to move or speak, the entire sky was pitch black and there were barely any buildings around, the only thing I could do is move my head, I kept trying to move it and say something but the only thing that came out was a noise that can barely even be described as a whisper, and eventually I woke up.
In the second one, I was about to fall asleep but I had to wake up for some reason I don't remember, I could tell that my perception of reality was screwed up because nothing made sense anymore and I could swear I saw some very strange alive shapes near the ceiling and the wall, but I wasn't able to do anything. Slowly my eyes returned to normal and so did everything else. I can say a bit about a few other dreams I've had as well: I always liked trains, so my father once told me that he found a train simulation game for the Nintendo 64. I was tired so I just said I would see it later and went straight to sleep, but somehow I ended up dreaming about that game during that night. I even woke up and asked him if I could see the game and sure enough it was the one I dreamed about, Densha de GO! 64. My only theory is that, while I was sleeping I was looking toward the laptop screen, so even though it was not that close and I had my eyes closed, it might still have been enough for some of the light to pass through and reach my eyes. Most of the dreams where I'm alone or it's dark/night time have a really uneasy, creepy feel to them that always makes me get worried. That sort of translates to real life a bit, my least favorite time of the day is night time, and my favorite is the morning. I have a few dreams written down, but I never really bother with writing many of them or sharing them most of the time. "I forgot what I was going to say." |

I think this was a month ago or something, I had a dream where (I guess) I was watching a horror movie or some stupid crap where there was a scene were a woman in her own car at a car wash and it started to go out of the car wash by itself and there was another girl who about to save her also in her own car (I think she originally wanted to kill her but had a change of heart?).
The next landscape was on the inerstate (I guess that was where the car wash took place, in the middle of freaking nowhere) and something happens I guess she saved her. Some accidents happen and a truck drives on oil and explodes. After that, lighting from the sky strucks down on the truck and even on some mud the women landed on, because logic. Then they both jump off a cliff and became mermaids into some secret base or something. Also for some reason, I remember them both being vampires. To put it simply, they could have been vampire mermaids... And it was in the daylight just like Twlight. Yes, this just topped my previous delusion. They fact I was able to remember what happens is amazing. ____________________ |

I was in a very low level on a cruise. It was a power substation and the more I walked, the more cables and transformers there would be. Electrical humming sounds got louder and louder, and I could see electric bolts and arcs flying everywhere. Then the bolts morphed into almost-spider-like spindly creatures with long legs. Everything about the creatures was made of electricity, tbink of the electricity discharged from Tesla coils.
I found a door and it led me outside (go figure) to what appeared to be a high school parking lots. There were a few concrete blocks embeded into the ground like bollards around the parking lot. I for whatever reason realized they were generators made of concrete instead of metal. These guys wearing hard hats came up to me and said they were fixing the generators. The generators were apparently damaged by people trying to drive on top of them. Then I woke up. |
