I am planning on getting a 1070 gtx. Andyes, I will start with 8GB because more makes the price go over $1000, I will upgrade later when I need it.
Right now, I just want to be able to stream SMG2 on dolphin with at least 90% speed. At a stream quality of 720p. If I can do that, then I can definitely record Minecraft with no lag. |

From building my PC back in 2014, I can tell you that the processor you get will heavily affect your performance in certain ways. For example let's compare two processor brands and models with different strengths and weaknesses.
AMD FX series: I chose this processor for my PC, specifically the 8350 Black Edition variant. It has very good multi-core performance so it'll work with most commercial games with unnoticeable to no lag. It also is much cheaper for its clock rate than other processors out there with the 4GHz processor costing a cool $180 dollars when I bought it (should be around the $120 mark now) compared to an i7 of the same frequency costing upwards of $300. It doesn't have as good single-core performance though so things that rely heavily on single cores and aren't optimized for multiple cores (such as the CEMU emulator) will suffer. Works well with Dolphin though if you're thinking about that right now, I get 60 FPS in every place but the boss fight with Gobblegut, but that was clocked with version 4.0 of Dolphin, so newer versions probably have been optimized more since I last used it. Intel i7: Now this one I can't give you personal experiences from it I'll give you all I know secondhand. This processor has very good single-core performance mainly because it uses 4 cores versus 8 cores on the FX-8350 to achieve the same 4GHz; but that single-core performance comes at a hefty price tag (upwards of $300) as described in the FX's paragraph. It also has lesser performance with multiple cores vs. the AMD processor due to it having only 4 cores compared to the FX's 8. I' e given what I can, but the choice is yours. Oh, and make sure that everything in your PC (motherboard, graphics card, any peripheral cards, etc.) is compatible with the processor you choose as some hardware will only work with certain processors. ____________________ Irony is the spice of life. |

"it uses 4 cores versus 8 cores on the FX-8350 to achieve the same 4GHz" Uhm, that's wrong. The frequencies of the cores are not added up or something. When a CPU is specified to run at 4 GHz all cores run at that frequency. And using a few year old components is not a that good idea. Often there are more recent parts with equal cost and far better performance because costs of older parts rarely drop. ____________________ GitHub - YouTube - NSMBHD |

Old AMD FX are trash. Ryzens are better values, even if they are still kinda flawed (like the fact it takes 8 cores to Ryzen to get the same performance as a 4_core Intel Core). For CPUs, I'd recommend a Kaby Lake i5/i7, that should do the trick. For GPUs, buy Nvidia, since the recently revealed Vega is trash. |

Yes, but you recommend an i5/i7 GPU and a GTX GPU. |

I know.
I will get the i5 (if the i7 can fit on budget, then I will take that). Also, RicBent, what newer components do you thing match the price of the old AMD FX? |

Do any of you know where I can get a Razer Keyboard for less than $100?
Also, what good quality speakers (under $50) should I get? |

Mecha-membrane keyboards are basically an attempt to cash in on the mechanical keyboard trend by making a keyboard that's technically partially mechanical, but mostly just the same cheap rubber switches.

Right now, I found one that stays on budget in Amazon. What about the Speakers? Also, here is my list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GQVpcc |

Don't get one directly from cherry. But they produce the switeches that get used in most keyboards. You don't have to pay so much money for a razer keyboard. It's literally the same as a cherry switches keyboard, but with a bit higher price. Also remember that there are 3 main types of switches. Don't instantly buy one without having tried all 3 types before at store for example. ____________________ GitHub - YouTube - NSMBHD |

Razer isn't actually as much of a rip off as you let on Ricbent, if at all. If you were to get the model I have, the black widow ultimate 2016, on newegg it would run you about $53. Mechanical keyboards tend to range in price from $50-$140 (though sometimes are on sale for around $30). $53 is pretty cheap for a mechanical keyboard. In terms of switches though, razer's green and orange switches have been reported to be basically copies of cherry's blue and brown switches (some say because they didn't want to work with cherry, which makes sense) that aren't really any better or worse than the originals. Its true that they were aggresivley marketed, though they dont seem to be the cause of higher prices in some of razer's newer products.
With the posts that i've seen you write tmat mention razer lately it seems more like you dislike the brand than the actual products. This isn't inherently a bad thing, its fine to hate a brand, but it doesn't reflect back on you well sometimes. Anyway, my suggestions for a keyboard would be this: if you want a fairly cheap mechanical keyboard that you know will last you, grab a razer black widow 2016 or another one of their older models. But I also suggest taking a look at some of the custom options on WASD Keyboards as they allow for nice customization, though many of the custom and non custom keyboards seem to be pretty expensive (ranging from $95 to around $140). I hear WASD Keyboard's products are great, but considering I don't have one and can't speak to its quality myself, i'd suggest proceeding with caution but giving it a shot if you have the money. ____________________ Hacking LM and trying to not suck.
