I want to build a gaming PC with at least an i5 card. My budget is $1000.

What parts do I need? Could someone provide me a list?

Also, here is the link to the part lists:

Your gonna need a Hard drive with at least 1 terabyte.

C: Windows - 1 terabyte
D: {Your choice} - At least 900GB

Shouldn't be that hard, BUT you'll also need a GPU.
A High functioning one will do.

Certain games can take up a lot of space. Hence why you will need the Terabyte.
You'll also need HIGH RAM. 64 GB should work.

That's all of the suggestions I got. I hope I helped. ;)

Is there anywhere I can get these things cheap? I have been saving for a while now, and plan to expand my RAM as needed. Right now I am only planning on recording and streaming Minecraft. I want to be able to run it while recording at 60FPS.

I also need to be able to run Dolphin smoothly, for testing SMG2 mods.

64 GB Is best.

A cheaper alternative would be 32 GB of RAM.

I do need to run resource-heavy games. Just Minecraft and a decent Dolphin FPS.

I will start out with 8GB, then expand as needed

O_O

Decent move. The only problem is that the processor needs to compliment your RAM.

In other words...

The processor needs to be compatible with your RAM.

In OTHER other words...

You need a different processor for different amounts of RAM.

Well then. Better keep saving!

But OS's aren't TOO expensive...

64GB is way too much for me.. I can't afford that.. I have $1000 that I can spend (the rest goes to college).

Do not get 64GB or 32GB of ram. For the love of god do NOT do that, the most you will need for modern computers is 8gb-16gb even then anything over 10 or 11 is really a stretch. Its not the CPU that needs to be compatible with your ram, its that your motherboard needs to support that amount of ram you put in it. This shouldn't be a problem for most motherboards you would get off of newegg or wherever.

In terms of OS, all the thing you listed in an earlier post can be done on linux (playing minecraft, streaming, dolphin and SMG2 modding). Other than that a fairly recent gfx card, I would suggest something like a gtx750-gtx1050, but since this is a budget build type deal Id aim towards the low to mid end of that spectrum. The i5 is a breddy good, so that seems solid.

Another suggestion, if you are far enough away from your router to need a wifi usb, er, thing, get a powerline adapter since they are fairly cheap and offer a solution to long range wired connections.

I want Windows for my OS though.. I have always used windows, and it would be weird to suddenly switch to Linux.
I was researching a few months ago and read something about a site where you can get Winows cheap..

I don't know all this stuff.. :P

by the way, i think this is a good deal

it also comes with a free rocket league code, so if you wanted it you could always get this

if you're mainly gaming then 8 gb of ram is fine, if you want you could go for 16 if you're gonna do some more heavy stuff like editing.

also, a core i5 will definitely fit your needs

about operating systems:
if you look around, you can definitely find it for cheap, but if you don't wanna spend money there are ways of pirating (although it's a bit sketchy, so if you wanna be a little more safe you may just wanna buy one)

Nice deal!

I don't think I will ever use the code. I could do a giveaway of some sorts.

I don't think I want to pirate it. I will look around harder, and take my Google microscope with me this time!

Ok, Maybe 64 & 32 are a bit overkill...

But hey! RAM EXPENSIVE games DO indeed exist.

Fortunately, you should actually be able to get away with 8 or 16 GB. Basing my estimate on the things you said you were going to do.

I have been using an 8GB RAM laptop with a Radeon R6 card. I have lagged quite a bit.. I guess the GeForce/i5(or i7!) will fix the lag. I think I'll get 16GB RAM

Yeah 64 GB sounds like a LOT. 16 GB sounds reasonable. You can always expand it if you need more.

So 2 TB then? I doubt you'll find 900 GB hard drives. Why not get an SSD for Windows and a bigger hard drive for games and stuff?

Take a GTX 1060 (2017) for your GPU. They are cheap and good.

If you want to play some heavier games 8 GB ram will make things go bad quick (esp in the future). Before I moved to Linux my Windows install loved to use as much ram as possible so I was kinda forced to update to 16 GB ram. Tho you can also get only 8 for now and update later if you run into problems (be sure that your mainboard has 4 dimm sockets!).

If you want to gaming also better spend a bit more on a gfx card. At least get a gtx 1060 or smth equal from AMD.
And considering your current budget you can even go with a 1070. Remember tho that gfx card prices are currently inflated because of crypto currency miner idiots.
