New logo by SY24. (Yes. THAT SY24)

Well, Here we go again!

I decided to make this ever since I made this Video:

You might ask: "But didn't you just finish Project Kaizo?"
Yes, I did, but THAT WAS JUST A WARM UP!

THE MECHANIC
Mario is being forced to run by an unused area called CometFireDanceArea (AKA: Force Straight Line Running Area)
Yes, this is the hack that displayed "??? progress" in my footer recently.

SOME PLANNED FEATURES
New Galaxys
Some of the hud redone
New Game Plot
And I am even going to attempt custom cutscenes.

Now, this will take a while to complete, so while you wait, you can play Project Kaizo. :D (Or not. XD)

Nice! From what I heard, fully custom galaxies aren't easy to do. I think this still need some work though. First, the level feels empty. You should try adding some enemies or something. Second, you need to make models with higher quality. This would look good in if it was in SM64, not in SMG2.

Regarding the model...
The textures are from SM64, but as of now, the model is just... bleh.
The space indeed is empty, 'cause it's not finished yet.

Now that I think about it, yeah, it would! :D Fortunately, the models current state is not its final.

They aren't... for some people.

How many stages do you intend to make?

How many stages do you intend to make?

Let's see here,

Each world has 7 stages
There are 7 worlds
7 X 7 = 49
49 stages. Why ask?

Because you can have custom galaxies. Well, you can add 3 new galaxies in total.

Because I wanted to know if this was going tobe a full hack or a mini hack.

How is the auto-running done? And why does mario triple jump when A is pressed?

CometFireDanceArea. He said that in the first post.

On a more serious note:
LIGHTING
Do we know how to use lighting and stuff to make the textures NOT look the same way? EX: Shadows. maybe...

Haven't been around for a while, so I never noticed this until now.

I must say, this hack is a neat concept and I think, if done right, it can become something truly original, due to the lack of SMG hacks out there. However, I don't think this concept fits Galaxy that well, since Mario's running speed is relatively slow and you would need some really good level design to implement a straightforward running game into a 3D platformer.

The models you used in the video look decent, but like literally all of the models I've made, could use lots of work. But they look more like models that would work better in a normal Mario Galaxy level, since they need to be scaled down for a concept like Mario Run. Otherwise, you'd have tons of empty space that would probably just hold trees and such.

Also, if you're planning on making a full game hack, my response is, good luck. I've been working with the game for about 2 years, and I, along with veteran hackers of the game can agree that it is NOT easy to edit. There are some galaxies that just have issues, like Fluffy Bluff Galaxy's Chimp mission, which crashes anytime I edit it. Although that may just be me, you're bound to run into several problems that will put your progress to a halt. I wish you the best of luck in continuing, since I really would like to see Mario Galaxy have something big done to it, ever since 2.5's failure.

Oh and btw for lighting, you'd probably want to edit your models in something like blender and bake the textures to make them shaded. But I'm still trying to figure that shit out myself so :|

Excellent idea! Why didn't I think of that?

Just so you know, I don't give up easily. So this hack will be complete.

As for the model size and shape. There is suppose to be space to run around in if you want. Especially in the first (ok, well second) galaxy in the game, so you can get a feel for the controls.

If you are concerned about mario's running speed, don't be. After W1, it'll be a LOT harder the faster mario goes. Especially with the NEW gimmick I thought of today. (To be announced on a later post)

Also, Sketchup is crap. So I've decided to use Blender from now on. I used sketchup because I read somewhere that it has the best compatibility with SMG2.

Empty space is going to be in some galaxies yes, but not all of them. (Currently working on 3 stars, 3 Green stars and 1 Hidden star in a galaxy, so hang tight!)

2.5 failed. Maybe someday, It will be revived... It's not likely, so I don't have high hopes, but who knows?

Have you tried re-placing fluffy buff with your own completely new galaxy? (READ THIS)

Your telling me, Mr original use-the-unused, that I will have problems?

I already have. With sky station being the first galaxy, you are forced to run through that quickly before starting the actual hack. XD This might not be the kind of problem you were referring to. oh well.
oshit this was a long post. O_0
(No offence was meant to be dealt with this post.)

Well, this sucks. Blender didn't bake the shades, when I tried, it screwed up the textures.
So My solution is this:
Create 10 textures for each texture, each with a different level of lighting (Numbered 1-10. 10 being the brightest)
Place the textures with precision in their spots.

...

Is there a known limit to how many textures a model can have?

The more textures, the higher the model size, the more chance of crash.

O_0 ok then...

Create 5 textures for each texture, each with a different level of lighting (Numbered 1-5. 5 being the brightest)
Place the textures with precision in their spots.
