PMDe is an editor for Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, that allows you to edit most aspects of the game; a full list of features can be found below. It is programmed in Java and developed using the Netbeans IDE. PMDe uses ini4j to store important offsets in the ROM. Additional icons were taken from various Pretty Office Icons sets. Tileset previews were created by SilverDeoxys563. Also, huge thanks to BRNMan and Crocodile91! They have already documented a lot about the game's data and ROM structure.

More information and download links can be found on the Github repo: https://github.com/SunakazeKun/PMDe

Current features

- edit dungeon data (map positions, floors, layouts, Pokémon, traps, ...)
- edit general Pokémon data (types, stats, evolutions, ...)
- edit general item data
- view moves data
- edit available starter and partner Pokémon
- edit POKé money factors

This is AMAZING! I kinda wish there was something like this for blue rescue team, but then again no point having to research the DS counterpart for no reason.

Oh cool. PMD is a fun game, so I'd been wondering why there'd been so few stuff in the way of hacking it.

Thank you very much! Red and Blue are not very different, because the way the data is stored is similar.

The spin-offs aren't as popular as the main series' games and there isn't that much to customize in the PMD games.

I've worked on the map editor again and it now shows all available map points. The red point is used for the currently selected one.

The first custom level works, yay. I still need to document some bytes, especially the ones for dungeon layout generation.

EDIT: Here are some new screenshots:

This project is paused at the moment, because I have to rewrite a lot of shitty code. Everything's too buggy...

Dungeon item editing hasn't been figured out yet.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I'm working on this little project again and I'm making some good progress :)

EDIT: Here are some new previews. The tileset preview is a very helpful addition. Thanks to SilverDeoxys563 for creating them.

Alright, I'm going to release the first version tomorrow or the day after that. I'm almost done with fixing some small bugs and I also rewrote some lines of code: To get rid of annoying enums, I started to use ini files for the offsets and additional game information. This is much easier to deal with, actually.

EDIT: Alright, the first version has been released. Download links and more information can be found on the github repo: https://github.com/SunakazeKun/PMDe

Thanks a lot. The only thing I really need help with is to figure out how the item data is formatted. I know where the pointers for the item data is stored. That's all, heh.

Btw, I've released a newer version a few hours ago which includes an editor for friend areas.

I have all the items documented. The question is how the set of items that appear in dungeons are set up.

Nah, they are more similar to Pokémon sets, that's for sure. Trap entries have a fixed size as they define the chances for each traps. Pokémon sets are lists of smaller entries, 0x8 bytes each.
