Yami, where do you get these ideas from? Especially this stuff about the EU...

Those aren't ideas, these are facts.
The only thing is, the Western leaders will never tell you that, until some insider leaks it, because propaganda.

"The EU is anti-democratic, makes rich nations poorer, makes countries less sovereign, etc. " is so vague that I don't think it even counts as a proper opinion. as for being fact - where is the proof?

There is pretty much no reason for any wealthy nation to join the EU. It's really just a way for lesser-developed European countries (Or in the case of Cyprus, not even European...) to take advantage of the resources of the wealthier members. This is one of the reasons why countries such as Norway have not joined- It simply does not serve its interests, and the EU's charter would just restrict its freedom and hinder its own progress.

oh no. god forbid we have a special theme for a couple weeks. this is terrible.

My post wasn't meant to be taken seriously, thought I think the christmas theme would look better if the colors were brighter.

I would also prefer more contrasty colors to mimic the Christmas lights at night.

Well at least you didn't resorted to brighty and flashy and colorfully animated gifs of Christmas lights.

Welp, school is legit fucking me over. I have like a month to improve my grades, and so far, Science, Math, and Spanish (although it's easy to bump up so uh), are in a failing position. Science especially, it's at an F right now. Fuck me.

Speaking of school, I put a bunch of videos on my school account's Google Drive.

I think I made a mistake, those were all unapproved videos (not porn), but something like Machinima.

It shouldn't be that bad though. Right?

Why did you even put them in your school drive in the first place?

Today is also the last day of my semester. I'm mostly bummed though, as it gave me time to work on models and stuff.

Meh, ever since the start of this year, I've been mostly sad about my friends not in the same hall as me.

oh fuck now my drive has enough space for my videos? ulgh

This is one of the reasons why countries such as Norway have not joined- It simply does not serve its interests, and the EU's charter would just restrict its freedom and hinder its own progress.

A. The Norway model
• The Norway model would give the UK considerable but not complete access to
the free-trade Single Market. We would be outside the EU Customs Union, and we
would lose access to all of the EU’s trade agreements with 53 other markets around
the world. Re-negotiating these would take years.
• Norway is obliged to accept the free movement of people and has chosen to be part
of the Schengen border-free area.
• Norway makes significant contributions to the EU and is subject to EU rules. If the
UK negotiated the Norway model we would be bound by many of the EU’s rules, but
no longer have a vote or veto on the creation of those rules.
• To adopt the Norway model, the UK would need the agreement of all the remaining
27 EU countries, along with Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway
(source: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/504604/Alternatives_to_membership_-_possible_models_for_the_UK_outside_the_EU.pdf

And why would wealthy states (e.g. Germany) be so in favour of the EU, if it did not benefit them?

Yami
Posted on 12-09-16 12:02 PM Link | #80207
Because Germany, along with France, Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg, are the ones who initialised the European Union, in the first place.
And Germany acts as the 'leader' of the block, even though they must obey whatever Washington dictates them.

Those aren't the only countries that benefit from the EU. Also, you make it seem like it is a revelation that the US is powerful.

Part of me feels like Tahcryon doesn't know what he's talking about. It sounds overly simplistic and if it were that easy to figure out, wealthy nations wouldn't join.

More on this:

Trump isn't anti-establishment. He's anti-human-decency. Stop saying he's anti-establishment when his cabinet members are anything but.

He has Rick Scott, the leading charlatan of the huge Columbia/HCA healthcare Medicare fraud and the worst he got was a slap on the wrist.

Look at the resumes of his goddamn cabinet members. Do the Trump supporters realize who they're voting for? DO THEY? They have no clue whom they voted for, what we're all in for. They are suckered in to Trump and Trump repays them by appointing some of the worst establishment figures ever.

Baby Luigi

I mean, I want to give this guy a chance, but seriously, all of his cabinet members make me want to throw up several times over.

This isn't like a Republican president picking blegh cabinet members. This is me feeling like, extremely sick over every single one of these guys and the prospect of these fools running our country is a legitimately scary prospect.

These four years is gonna be a long goddamn four years because our nation is run by morons who have NO IDEA who they voted for.

At least one good thing happened this year in terms of politics:

Austria's far-right nationalist nominee, Hofer, has lost against Alexander Van der Bellen. Van der Bellen is going to be Austria's first Green president. Sure, the president is ceremonial, but geez, at least we don't have far-right nationalist bullcrap at full steam everywhere in Europe.

At least some parts of this world still has some goddamn sense left.

Not in America though, where we're stuck with Goldman Sach's assholes again.

It would be funny to see the anti-establishment Trump supporters vote totally blow up and tear their faces away if it wouldn't affect like, everything else good about America.
