Microsoft actually backpedaled when Xbonerz got terrible publicity. Maybe the same will happen here.

Even if they did do it, they're just gonna find more decomposing roadkill to decorate their sludge pie.

And now the reporting function is broken. It doesn't do anything if I click it. Wow...
Deleting spam comments (or comments in general) works, though.

I think the best route is to switch to DuckDuckGo and installed an addon call Ghostery. Anything else to prevent Google from stalking you?

I tried DuckDuckGo at the beginning of this year, and sticked to it for a few months.
The problem is, I often can't find on DuckDuckGo the things I'm looking for, while on Google, I can.

of course. when you are a megacorporation like Google, you can afford huge server parks to power a deadly search and a billion features.

I have no problem. And I think it's worth paying for better privacy (really, we shouldn't allow Google to treat us like this, getting our personal information, data that's permanent once they have access to it).

I like to think that people are just so used to Google that the transition to DuckDuckGo might be a little unnerving. But I like the simplicity of DuckDuckGo and dislike how repeatedly anti-consumer Google is. My transition to DuckDuckGo and trying to block all Google tracking crap is a few things I've done as a personal statement.

Switching to Opera :P I like it better anyway.

Opera is also more or less Chrome, it's got the same kind of UI and it uses Webkit :P

Wasn't Webkit an engine Google uses, and not what Google owns?
I'm currently using Chromium, until I find a good alternative.

I was thinking of Midori, but it crashes to often.
I was thinking of Konqueror, but it renders way to many websites strangely.

Webkit isn't owned by one person/entity, but uh, Apple is part of it.

also, apparently, Google has its own fork of it.

I guess every browser does the same crap at this point though. A trend in software engineering is to be overly concerned about user experience. Collect usage data to "help improve their experience", beg for reviews, etc...

Usage data which can be sold to advertisers, too. Or who knows what else.

If anything begs me for a review, I'm fucking tempted to give them a "1/5 product/service is actually good but LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE".

Yeah, but you can disable it on opera, and it also doesn't ask me reviews.

Or so you think... someone should grab Wireshark and compare which servers are contacted with the telemetry enabled and disabled.

Like Windows 10; you can disable privacy-concerning options, but in reality, it doesn't mean anything, because enabled means enabled, and disabled also means enabled.

It's rather unfortunate that on MarioWiki, I couldn't push for .apng support ONLY because Chrome doesn't have support for it and the site's owner said that 53% of visitors use Chrome as their browser.

Boycott Chrome. ;( It's not like FireFox is any different aside from having .apng support.

Push APNG support as far as possible. GIF needs to die.

And it's not like it will completely break on Chrome, it will just display the first frame.

And if you are on Chrome simply install the plugin APNG.

Works like a charm.
