i'm sure most of you are familiar with skelux and greeny, two major faces on orimagi64.

well, there's a very high chance they wiped out smwc's staff server. it's not outside the realm of possibility they'll target other rom hacking sites as well, especially this one given their history with this place.

be careful, and try not to respond to blatant trolls :)

seeing as Skelux got into arguments near Kafuka and Jul, I could see those sites targetted, but... Kuribo64? I don't see a real reason for them to attack us. then again...

not like we aren't prepared to that kind of event, though.

i've heard a second hand account of you dealing with o64 lamers over at the irc channel for kafuka. could be justification enough for targeting you guys, but that's mostly speculation

iirc they also spammed this place back in 2014, so

all I did was ban Jesse and someone else who were only there to troll further after Skelux left.

as far as #kafuka is concerned, Skelux left by himself after a 3h30 long argument. then the trolls showed up and got ejected by me. someone else would have done it either way.

I have nothing to do with #x as I don't have power there, and Skelux was ejected by Xkeeper. appears #orimagi64 was mostly evicted too.

So now kafuka, smwcentral and this site are safe, right?

Or he can leak passwords?

you can't leak passwords without having access to them, and any decently-coded website shouldn't let normal users have access to passwords.

Well, nothing's been happening so far. I don't think there'll be anything at that rate.

It's a good thing for them.

Should we change to more secure passwords to be safe?

Even if they did somehow steal our password hashes (which in itself is unlikely), they can't do anything with them.

Regardless, if your password is insecure, it's a good idea to change to a more secure one. Half of the security relies on the users. If your password is 'mario', you have a high chance of getting hacked, no matter how the board stores passwords.

Could they use a brute-force attack (getting a bot to constantly try random strains of characters extremely quicky)?

Either way, my password is very secure (capitals, numbers, fairly long) so I probably won't be getting hacked, but only time will tell, I guess...

You get blocked for 15 minutes after 5 failed login attempts or so. A bruteforce bot would take a looooooong time to guess a password that isn't trivial.

Oh, that's good. We should be OK then

We will be.

The board is fairly secure. The staff members all have good and unique passwords.

And out of all the persons who raged hard enough to want to hack us, noone has been competent enough to manage anything other than lame CSS hacks.

And this board is even safe filtering JavaScript and SQL injections to be secure. Right?
