Should we make this a thing? Battle systems seem to become popular again these days :P


Our shop/stats/etc system would finally be useful, I guess. On the other hand, the items weren't really designed with a battle system in mind, the stats are more or less bullshit. So it might need some balancing.

I also don't like the idea that "more posts get you access to better equipment". Technically, coins also increase on their own like EXP, but it's slow (like EXP).


I would also make it so that modifying an existing item causes it to be unequipped from everyone who owns it. * Arisotura glances at a certain person with a Banhammer -- you know who you are.


Sooo... how battles could go.

* engage in a new battle against another player
* or join an existing battle
* no 'sides', do whatever(?)
* leave battle when: all enemies are defeated/fled / you are defeated / you flee (with penalty)
* HP/MP regenerate to max after a battle
* engaging in battle requires confirmation from other party, to avoid picking on AFKers
* possible battle actions: attack/magic/flee
* make attacks/magic 'consume' some of your stats so you can't just spam them forever
* prevent spam anyway

I agree, the idea seems ok.

But we need to nerf postcount++ idiots who post only for coins.

And we need something for winning green coins

Maybe something like what Neopets had?

It could be fun - their icon system was unique. If you're going to implement a battle system, it may be worth researching that.

I can do the item balancing on if you want (been doing that for the most part already though :v)

How about some random monsters encounter system which scales to your current level?
Like, one could try 'searching' for a battle against random generic monsters to gain some exp, and you can only search like, 5 times a day, and 'searching' doesn't always guarantees a random encounter, like find a random item (though this would be sort of useless because there's no inventory, but dunno)

I like the random monsters idea also, would be another way to up your EXP and level besides posts and whatnot.

So you know that star coin collecting thing over at Red Hat? Maybe we could have something like that but it moves around.

Lets say I'm posting and I see this like Goomba or Eggman fly across my screen. If I click it fast enough to catch it then I would get some exp.
Is that a good idea or am i just full of crappy ideas

I was thinking about this. It seems like it would work just fine. But maybe instead of battling other users, (Until we can balance the items, that is) we would just go and beat up CPU players in an endless Mario & Luigi styled fight. I can make games that are meant to be on the internet. (HTML5 Export) If I built a Battle system, Would we actually make it a part of Kuribo64?

(Sorry if this is bump :P)

We'll start with a player VS CPU if anything.

I don't know PHP. So If I'm making it, it'll be in HTML5.
