Hello,

I speedrun Super Mario Galaxy and one of the main disadvantages of speedrunning galaxy 1 over 2 is that smg 1 doesn't have an in-game level timer. Now, I have almost no programming knowledge, so I have no idea how realistic this is. But would anyone be able to make this? It would be a massive help for the super mario galaxy speedrunning community.

Afaik, anything is possible (beside things going past hardware limitations), so yes, but it'd be very hard to make.

Also, Galaxy 2 doesn't have a timer either..?

Galaxy 2 keeps track of your fastest times per level, that's what I meant.

I wouldn't say it'd be very hard.

Well, you would probably have to code that in PowerPC then release it as a memory patch. If Galaxy 1 already has unused code for timers, it shouldn't be too hard. But if it has no code at all then it would probably be way harder
