Mostly because of the countless derps who would just slap a fixed wallpaper on their whole post table and call it a layout.

A lot of them coming from a certain board.

I made a simple layout, with layered background scrolling.

It seems fine to me, but is it laggy for anyone?

Each night, I brutally murder a mosquito.
Also Lunarius, your layout somewhat lacks readability, other than that nice job.

Here's a link.

gridatttack, your layout lacks padding a bit in my opinion.

Guess what?

This post doesn't exist.

Finally, nice drawing LGM.

I crammed too much into one post.

It doesn't seem to lag for me. Not sure if I dig the clouds, I really don't. I'll have to read some of your other posts to tell if they're manageable or too distracting.

animations in layouts are generally not a good idea, it's distracting

Just out of curiosity, is the animation on the background of my post too distracting?

In other news, I just ported two of my layouts from other places™ to the Kuribo64 code, but I don't know if I'm going to use them here or not. Here is an image containing both. The second layout would probably include an avatar change too, because reasons. Any thoughts?

animations are fine when they're subtle and not too visible in the post area, yours is fine

I... wouldn't know which layout to choose :P

the first one is nice and colourful, but the second one fits this board's default theme :P

I like the first one.

So serene and the lighting and color is nice.

Your current one is okay though, the animation is not distracting.

I made this for
super mario central,
but I copy and pasted it.
You can see the
gray blob
fits to the text.
So that means

S T R E T C H S T R E T C H S T R E T C H S T R E T C H
T
R
E
T
C
H
S
T
R
E
T
C
H
S
T
R
E
T
C
H
S
T
R
E
T
C
H

Everything

works,
too.

(I actually don't know how to change quotes and code)

well then it'd be a good idea to learn some CSS before messing with layouts

in particular you seem to have max-width rules that do this

Actually I DO know css, and I'm pretty good at it
I have tried before to remove max-width but it never worked

-_-

Remove all of this in your layout:
max-width: fit-content!important;
max-height: fit-content!important;
max-width: -moz-fit-content!important;
max-height: -moz-fit-content!important;
max-width: -webkit-fit-content!important;
max-height: -webkit-fit-content!important;
And then you're good to go.

Another good idea is to use less generic class names, .innertext and .glow are likely to create conflicts with other CSS.

oh please, can you atleast be honest

we don't care if you don't know CSS or whatever, but we don't like people who try to lie about it to make themselves look good

yeah, right.

I have tried before to remove max-width but it never worked

I did that quickly with the browser's dev tools and it worked instantly.

And it's obvious to anyone knowing some CSS that:
a) the issue would come from width/max-width/display
b) a div spans 100% width unless the properties above are explicitly modified

It's obvious that you don't know CSS as much as you pretend to.

oh and don't try pulling the "waaah people are mean to me" card. it won't work.
