If you look at the history books, what's ironic was that the democrats were for slavery until John F. Kennedy came around.

They had party shifts several times. With the Southern Strategy in play, people that used to support the Democrats at the antebellum period and after the Reconstruction switched party affiliations to Republican around William McKinley-Woodrow Wilson-Franklin D. Roosevelt's time.

National Review Online has a conservative slant. I'd look elsewhere for sources that criticize what Obama does (and yes, I do have liberal views but I don't love Obama either). They also hold global warming denialist and other pseudoscientific positions (like abstinence-only sex education), which bring up a major red flag for me.

I have a conservative slant too, but I can see if I can find something from a neutral source.

I must add though, they did cite an ultra liberal person on these points. :P

I love how we can legitimately talk about politics without spitting out "TRUMP IS LAME BECAUSE OF HIS HAIRSTYLE" or some other ridiculous crap

But uh, in all due seriousness, back to the OP.

I'd choose Trump. He's straightfoward and wants to get stuff done. I also really like his tax plan and foreign policy.

I originally was going with Rubio; he didn't have an ego and was pretty logical to me. He's also a bit more 'appealing' to non-Americans because he's Cuban. :P He also makes valid points as well.

What annoys me the most is people claiming to be conservative but going against Trump, resulting in Democrats in office. You either and conservative and with Trump or you aren't.

I pretty much don't assign myself to a party because of this, but I'm right wing.

You're saying all of these people too and these people around the world are part of Obama's plot of "brainwashing" us about climate change?

To be frank, I'm highly critical of Yami's statements. They're all outrageous to me. You call it propaganda, but these statements sound exactly like it. Obama being responsible for establishing ISIS? Obama being involved in a conspiracy about spreading the falsehood of global warming? Really?

You're free to choose what you want to believe, but I'd rather go with the hidden truth, than propaganda 'truth'.

Posted by xKitten
also Yami, police are heroes. Those people broke the law and threatened the officer's life in the case of Michael Brown. Police aren't racist; it depends on who breaks the law. Besides, black cops exist too. America is diverse; you can't just generalize cops like that.

Who ever said I was generalising police to be Racist?
You're the one who's generalising my opinion, I never said "all of the police", I said "police", which is a huge difference.
Sure, "police" can refer to all of them, but it can also refer to some of them.

Im only going to make one post here because arguing politics on the internet is like fist fighting a bullet train; I'd vote trump over hillary any day. Honestly, I'd rather have a truthful asshole than a seemingly nice lier. I liked sanders the most out of all of them (though some of his ideas were really bad) but he really doesn't have much of a chance now due to americas current party system.

Trump doesn't go after people (except liberals lol) until they attack him. This happened to Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, and that's when they started doing worse. Trump is a really good public speaker, kind of like Obama but I agree with Trump's views. :P I honestly think Hilliary doesn't have much of a chance when they start getting in debates.

This isn't propaganda. Global warming is a scientific theory. That puts it in the same caliber as gravity, germs; i.e. it's the absolute best, well-substantiated explanation for observed phenomena in the world, and it's supported by many branches of science. The "hidden" truth you're thinking of makes no well-substantiated claims and has to spectacularly contradict many branches of science for it to be true.

That's absolutely wrong to say that Trump is "straightforward" and "truthful". Trump does not mean what he says. He just says things people want to hear. It brings out the worst in them. Trump WAS pro-abortion, he WAS for universal health care, and he HAD donated half a million dollars to promote the Democrats over the last few decades. He is NOT consistent with his points at all and that makes him difficult to trust.

people are allowed to change their minds after seeing the garbage that's going on

Bill Clinton was a good democratic president, as FDR and JFK were. I still think the country is doing worse under Obama and Hilliary is going to continue that.

(plus I'm completely against Sanders' "democratic" socialism)

You don't flip flop in positions, it makes you look like you're not committed to your points or it may even appear that you're only saying things like that to win votes. That being said, it's not like Hillary is consistent with her points either, and she often says things just to try to appeal to the middle rather than the left. Yes, she's a dumb centrist. Obama straddles on being a dumb centrist too, such as not being committed enough to climate change (which I think is more dangerous worldwide than terrorism). For instance, years ago, Hillary didn't have support for gay rights unlike Sanders, who supported gay rights at that time.

I also don't see how the country is doing worse directly by Obama. If it is indeed getting worse, it's from complex and external circumstances that Obama cannot control, such as inheriting the huge national debt from Bush Jr. and becoming President right after the Great Recession.

Oh, and lol Sanders isn't super socialist. I don't see why you put "democratic" in quotes. In places like Europe, Sanders takes a simple left-wing stance. Republicans, on the other hand, appear to be a right-wing fringe group to Europeans.

I put democratic in quotes because Sanders make a big deal about the differences.

I just knew it was only a matter of time before a thread like this was made. I would have never guessed pokemon would be included! I remember the last politics thread we had was closed immediately, but that was when this site was more serious.

Who would I pick? Well Pokémon Clinton is more powerful (and power corrupts absolutely), but Pokémon Trump is smarter and more talented (but he seems to care less about his public image).

Hard to tell. I might just catch Pokémon Trump.

> Extremely good human rights.
> Police kills black people, and goes viral worldwide.
> Muslims are all seen as terrorists.

Yep...

I see this a lot in New Zealand. Everyone thinks the police are racist, that americans want the muslims out, and all the rest of the typical American society stereotypes. I have to tell people that its not like that at all, but I can never make a convincing case because its all they've ever been told (by the media).

When it comes to Trump, all I hear is that he hates Mexicans, Muslims, women, etc. And that's its racist, sexist, culturalist (because Islam is not a race), and so on. I tell them, he never said he hates Mexicans, he said, we need to keep illegal immigrants out, that we should make sure the muslims entering in the country aren't terrorists, and that I hate abortion (unless its absolutely necessary e.g. If carrying the child would kill the mother, then yes abortion is required). His abortions statement I think was just for media attention.

6 months ago, when I was visiting the US, someone said to me: "It's a shame that the media has so much power in your county"- As people here get a manipulated view of America.

Finally, somebody with a brain!
That's exactly the reason why I just stay away from the Mainstream/Cooperate Media, they give you false information, anyway.
And the worst thing is, it's not even limited to the USA, this holds true for pretty much all countries worldwide.

Can't help but agree!

For Anericans, if you want fair, un-biased news, take a look at One America News Network (OAN). It's pretty much the fairest thing around; literally straight news. :P

But uh, yeah. The media spouts bullshit everywhere, and low education voters instantly agree. People need to form their own opinion. >_>

I'm wondering why people are willing to politicalize science. Science isn't propaganda in the slightest, and neither is global warming, which is mostly science.

If you want to dispute that, argue with NOAA, NASA, and all major climate scientific organizations who spent their entire lives studying climate.

What does Donald Trump say when some hooligans beat and killed a homeless Mexican person and then cited him? "I will say, the people that are following me are very passionate," Trump said. "They love this country, they want this country to be great again." His saying, "well, I'm talking about just the illegals" is just an out point. He holds an 87% disapproval rating from Latinos. I'm aware that some Latino groups tend to support Republicans, most famously, the Puerto Ricans, but that 87% figure isn't something to scoff at.

This is a Search Engine, that either shows Independent (no bullshit) News, or Mainstream (bullshit) News, and you choose either of the 2.

Natural News, TruthStreamMedia.com, JewWatch.com, Breitbart.com, which GoodGopher shows a lot of results from, are hardly quality sites. Mike Adams, the creator of GoodGopher, is the one who's full of bullshit. If you're not familiar with Mike Adams, he hates medication, doctor visits, vaccination, cooked food, deodrants, shampoo, fluoride, sugar, washing powder, homogenized milk, and gluten, to name a few. He also does not accept germ theory and he also partakes in HIV/AIDS denialism. He is also a proponent of homeopathy, detox diets, vitamin woo, and he also collects information on freaking chemtrails. This person is deranged, off the rails when it comes to science. He is spectacularly wrong.

For instance, he's afraid of cancer-causing chemicals that taint the food and wishes for more "natural" foods. He even cites freaking Food Babe on this

"Commercially available grain-based products that line grocery store shelves and are served at restaurants are unhealthy. They are full of ingredients that are not food, like azodicarbonamide (the same chemical in yoga mats and shoe rubber), other chemical dough conditioners, added sugars, artificial flavorings or coloring and GMOs. Flour can be treated with any of the 60 different chemicals approved by the FDA before it ends up on store shelves – including chemical bleach! Also, the industrial processing destroys nutrients, such as Vitamin E and fiber."

Yet, this is what a blueberry's chemical makeup looks like.

Also, on the last line, about "destroying" chemicals, manufacturers often readd the nutrients back after processing the bread, so that's a convenient fact to leave out.

Other quality articles by Mike Adams

WARNING: If you're juicing non-organic produce, you're just poisoning yourself with a pesticide cocktail
Blah blah blah you're drinking pesticides and then you're going to poison yourself blah blah blah

Even though the pesticide residue is highly regulated and thus probably way too small to have any negative effect on you. Also, organic designation still allows some pesticides, even a synthetic ones called copper sulfate. Still, it's not like they work better than synthetic ones.

Oh and buy my product blah blah blah

Don't you see? This is a marketing scheme for him to sell you crap based on misinformation like this. Mike Adams is full of shit and you're buying into it by using stuff like goodgopher.

That's not to say mainstream media is without its flaws, shown by the cell phone cancer reporting, but you can bet anything that GoodGopher spits is pretty awful.
