use a gamecube controller for smash and a wii-mote for other stuff. Easy solution.
nvm you're screwed

Well, I'm attempting to master Dark Pit. I've really only mastered Kirby and Bowser, lol

You can't use the web browser without the gamepad.

Sure?

Because though I consider myself a seasoned Mario player (and Smash player in general), I doubt I'm a Mario master like Ally is, but I do find Ally's techniques very, very doable, at least from one video I can garner. It just seems scary facing against Fox and Cloud players though. And Corrin, but I never played against Corrin because I don't have its DLC. Again, lack of matchup experience with human players is definitely my biggest weakness AND obstacle (because I lack appropriate funds for competitive Smash).

Also, it's totally fine to stick to one or two mains to be honest. In fact, you shouldn't really be maining more than three characters. I main Mario, but Luigi and Dr. Mario are my secondaries and both have a completely different play style to get used to.

I second what LGM said.

I've seen people use like over 4 characters and I wonder how they even fit the time to practice them.

I just basically use Corrin as my main now, and Shulk as a secondary for counter picks in tourneys (since no one knows hows to properly fight vs Shulk since only me and another guy can use him at top level play)

I used to play Pit/Dark Pit, but I dropped them because Corrin covers the problematic matchups Shulk has.

In my case, it was sort of pure luck. ("mastering" characters)

Back when Smash 3DS came out, I hosted a tournament via a friend room. A bunch of other people and I had a great time that day. I switched to Toon Link as a test, and then with him I just basically started to kick everyone's arseholes. I had no prior experience with him before in this game. The same went with my Mii character(Sword fighter) and sometimes ROB. It was crazy.

I wonder if people's characters' matchups against Toon Link are just horrendous or they just have no experience fighting him or those other characters you used.

It's not like Kirby has a steep curve you know?

He's no Pikachu/Sheik/Fox/Rosaluma.

To be fair, the game at that time did just come out so I didn't expect anyone to have good strats or a certain move to spam.

"a certain move to spam"

Bad players spam moves. Though no one started as an expert in Smash 4 either, so I give it to you about the "strats" part.

Oh, by the way, I main characters because I like them. Even if they're low tier trash like Mario in Brawl and Dr. Mario in Smash 4. :) Mario's always been my main man though. Even outside of Smash Bros..

Toon Link excels in spamming. Heck, his whole game revolves around Bomb Confirms.
He lacks Range though, as his sword is the shortest of the game.

Dealing with the amount of projectiles he has can be troublesome if you don't know how.

Same for me. I like the style sword users have (Zoning), and Shulk and Corrin happen to play exactly how I like playing (due to the options they have)

I main Kirby and Bowser, with Dark pit as a secondary. (for some reason I suck as Pit, though)

I also like choosing certain characters for certain modes. Bowser does really well in Multi-Man smash, while Kirby is great in Home Run Contest. (screw Ganondorf, nobody needs him)

I have a bunch of characters I do use, but they're either when I play for friendlies or online.
I have Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Rosa, Kirby, Palutena, my trash weeaboo Robin, Corrin on the side of my main, Ness. Oddly, Corrin is the only sword character I actually enjoy playing in this game AND can use decently. :P

Also to you modders: System update incoming (was informed it does impact mods), change your DNS' (both primary and secondary) to 107.211.140.065 to prevent it from occurring!

Thanks for letting me know. Changed both DNS's to 107.211.140.065. I hope my system doesn't update, honestly.

Oh yeah, pleased to meet you Timmy. I'm that Striker Mario person from MarioBoards in case you haven't known yet.

I suppose it was better to wait till the wii u would be dead (due to NX) rather than to get the exploit now.

Well, it was nice while it lasted.

Hope they find an exploit in 5.6

It's a reason the exploit was "leaked" rather than released. Hackers KNOW Nintendo's going to take action and try blocking the kernel exploit as soon as it is released. It's very risky to work on kernel exploits and have them released on the current system update because Nintendo can patch this any time, thus throwing their hard work to waste. That's why we call it "leaked", not released. It's beyond their ability at that point.

But I don't understand what you mean by "it was nice while it lasted". You can disable updates via Tubehax (and what Timmy said) so you can still enjoy your crap until we get another exploit. What, do you think this system update's gonna do actually anything good?

Yes, I know it was leaked, but the point still stands (The person who leaked it 'ruined' the fun on the long run)

As yeah, I am fully aware you can block stuff. But I play online on smash wii u with friends, and eventually, they will eventually release a balance patch that I need to get online, and I can't get said patch if I'm not on the latest wii u firmware.

Oh, that sucks. I keep forgetting about online because I personally don't use it, so in my mind, it's not a huge loss that I can't access it because of a blocked firmware. Sorry. ._.

We're most likely losing both the stagefright and the kernel. There is legit no entrypoint if this occurs.
