Europe is f...

I have succesfully patched the ROMFS on my PAL copy of Mario Kart 7.

I read that there were issues with old versions of HANS and NSMB2. You're sure you're using a newer one, right?

I actually don't know. I'm using *hax 2.7, which according to some people should work...

Weird. There are really only two options left that I know of.

One time, my brother was replacing shiny Pokemon in Omega Ruby, and it suddenly stopped working. We tried replacing the modded files with vanilla ones, still wouldn't boot. We ended up redumping the game with braindump, and redoing our changes.

As for the other option, it could simply be Hans configured incorrectly. Take a picture of Hans before the game boots (If you aren't seeing it, hold L while booting Hans).

A few days ago, I wanted to replace only 1 song in Star Fox 64 3D, and I've got this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmsLKfkFRO8

However, it turned out to be an incomplete ROMFS dump, so I tried dumping it again (and a complete one, this time).
Results: Graphics were no longer fucked, but the Audio still was.
When booting up Star Fox 64 3D directly from the HOME Menu, I have no issues, so it's not the Cartridge that's dying.

The ROMFS (00030400.romfs) is 523,776 kB (511 MB), according to Windows Explorer, so maybe someone else can check out through a valid SF643D ROM?
My Region is Japanese, by the way, so EUR or USA ROMFS sizes may differ.

Hans is glitchy, same happens in OOT. If you have cfw just use layeredfs. There is no fix for music glitches.

So anyone got any ideas?

That looks perfectly fine. The only possibilities are that you messed up the file placement on the SD or braindump failed somehow.

We could check the first possible reason if you go to the root of your sd and right click whilst holding the shift key. Then you also get "open command prompt here" in the menu. Then enter "tree". Finally copy everything to pastebin and give us the link.
If that fails my last possible idea would be redumping NSMB2 with braindump.

Otherwise try using LayeredFS of NTR as NoThisIsStupider already said (Only working on CFW).

Tree of SD

Edit:
Downloaded a newer version of braindump and ctrtools. I now get an error when extracting my RomFS and ExeFS from the cxi-file with ctrtools...

Error, exheader hash mismatch. Wrong key?

Maybe this has got to do with me not being able to play NSMB2 with hans?

Oh sorry, use "tree /F". Otherwise it wont list files, only folders.

For what do you need ctr tool? Doesn't braindump extract already decrypted exefs and romfs files?

Edit: And you don't have to delete your post to update it. Just use the "Edit" button.

It extracts a .cxi file and from that you use ctrtools to extract romfs.bim and exefs.bin

tree /F pastebin

Why not just use the hack pack from that pokemon tutorial on gbatemp?

Really?
I didn't know that...

I can Install CIA Files on a "DevKit" (actually a Test Unit or a Panda, I just said "DevKit" so others can understand it better), I can't seem to create a proper RSF File for that.

Well, when using PackHack it won't find my cxi-file even though I followed the tutorial correctly.
Eh, nevermind... It worked. But hans still won't load my romfs-file even if it is unedited!

Edit:
Can't someone just send me an unedited romfs and I'll see if it works, and if it does, I'm going to be really frustrated... :O

Why would someone elses romfs work differently? Why even continue trying this? Just go install a cfw and I'll make you a layeredfs patch for it, and you won't have to worry about hans. Again, HANS is glitchy, it could very well just be a case of smea only fixing the ntsc version of nsmb2, with the other two left to rot.

(side note, you could also install an ntsc version of nsmb2 gold edition which is a legit cia and can be installed without cfw, and try using that)

Some dumps just get really messed up, but you can't tell.

It wouldn't hurt to redump the game.

(Since I forgot to mention it in that post: Yes, it worked.)

I've redumped the game several times but it won't work. But I won't stop trying.

Would it work using FBI to install the legit cia?

Yeah, use fbi, make sure you get a legit cia off that iso site, things like FunKEYcia won't work.
