I think we should a more reliable version comes out. I haven't seen any full-FPS videos yet, only nearly-full-FPS.

I don't think it'll get much better than this, I'm pretty sure it's being limited by your WiFi. Besides, for capturing sprites, I think that the current version is sufficient.

The problem I see is not framerate, but quality. It might not be as good as a capture card / screenshot feature, and if it isn't, there will be a discrepancy between the screenshotted pictures and the ntr streamed stuff.

I've recently hacked my 3ds and installed hans, braindump etc. and I thought I would try to hack NSMB2 levels. CoinKiller looked like a good thing to try out but I've got a problem. Whenever I try to start the latest build of CoinKiller I could find...
https://kuribo64.net/board/thread.php?pid=68176#68176
...it wont open up anything, it will just start 3 processes of CoinKiller then just do nothing.

I have no idea why this happens but does anyone here know?

Sorry if this is the wrong thread for this. If it is then just move my post.

no, it's the good thread, but why did you put the link and image in spoilers?

as for your problem, well... it's a weird one, have any more detail?

Well, I downloaded the build I linked in the first spoiler then I un-ziped it then opened CoinKiller.exe and my whole explorer.exe crashes...
I tried to download Qt and build it for myself but the same thing happens when I open the program QtCreator.

Edit:

I have Windows 7 64-bit if that helps with anything...

also you didn't answer my question about the spoilers, why did you put the link and the image in spoilers? that has no reason to be

Eh sorry, I removed the spoilers.

Edit:

The funny thing is that I can run all the Qt applications except QtCreator -.-

Edit 2:

Wait what? By turning off my wifi it worked! Well this is certainly strange...

How do you load the cia file? It wants me to select a folder and not a file, and if i select the folder with the cia it crashes.

You don't. You dump a .cxi with braindump, and extract the romfs from it using ctrtool, which is what Coinkiller operates on. The process of extracting it is shown here.

There also might be a way to do this with a CIA, but I'm not familiar with that.

Sorry for that huge time without anything new about this project. I somehow lost motivation on this.

But the last days I finally got back to it and finished the SARC saving and file adding.
That means that you will now be able to edit any level without any fear to corrupt anything. Since file adding is possible now, also layers which were not existing in a specific area are now usable.

If you want to grab a built, here you go: https://kuribo64.net/get.php?id=AdeOXlmzLpDcioPj

Next step would be adding support for adding/removing areas from levels.

[thumbnail]

As you can see, area selction/adding/removing is now a thing.
I also added suport for copy, cut and paste, as well as changing the layer of already existing tiles and changing the z-order of objects.

Also the level and tileset selectors were updated:

I get a runtime error whenever I try to open a level after opening the folder with the romfs and exefs

Open the ROMFS folder.

Well, I guess that I should check weather a file exists before adding it to the level list.

Also I should prevent opening non-existent levels.

Well, I guess that I should check weather

yeah, sounds like a good idea. It can have bad consequences to code during a thunderstorm.

:P

other than that, yeah.

ooooOOooOOo

also the editor has a bug with sprite placement, some sprites disappear if you place them. I placed 16 spinies and only 3 of them showed up.

Yea that is really strange...

I double and triple checked if the sprites are correctly written to the header and they are.

Defenetly needs investigation.
