The stuff on that pastebin site reminds me: Why the hell would you ever need something like Pastbin Pro? I dislike how a lot of web sites offer this kind of premium content or you have to sign up or do other things they want you to do. Everywhere you go, even with Adblock enabled, you still see freaking ad billboards. Enough is enough.

having to pay to use basic features is terrible

it's a website, i just want to browse the friggen thing, stop demanding i sign up for your """""premium""""" account for 2.99 a month

How about how some websites make you pay before you can view the content? I believe some of them do this? It never ends well.

You know what else? We're getting mainstream news sites like Los Angeles Times implementing fucking infinite scroll on their articles. I've scrolled through an article and I'm dismayed that I'm getting titles of MORE articles showing up rather than an end to the page showing links and the comments section.

Seriously, what the hell happened to Los Angeles Times's home page? It sucks. Why did they decide to put every single section (U.S. news/national news/local/sports/entertainment/business & technology/food/travel) on the same goddamn page? It wasn't like this before. The "entertainment" section isn't visible until you scroll down, and the page then auto-loads the thing. And then, the page glitches out and I can't scroll further down nor can I get back to where I was. Is it because of their emphasis on mobile support? Either way, it looks awful now.

That's not all. If I'm reading an article and I'm done, I scroll down and think "I'm done." But, no, stupid infinite scroll loads MORE articles, article names, but it's galling that other sites load FULL articles from infinite scroll (like fucking ZDNet which has an article on infinite scrolling yet it loads another entire article once you're at around the comments section; ZDNet should be ashamed of itself).

should I mention those sites that feel the need to spread their content over 50 fucking pages when it would all fit in one page, have they gone to the opposite extreme and completely forgotten about scrollbars

(or more likely they're trying to generate more page views)

also worth noting that in those cases, the site contains less actual content than ads and other shit

Oh yeah, like unnecessarily dividing an article into three pages when the article isn't even that long. Maybe they're also pandering to mobile because you know how mobile helps web design.

I shudder to think about forums that use infinite scroll for threads rather than pagination. I haven't met any yet, but maybe it'll happen at one point. Oof.

multiple pages don't even help mobile browsing

3 pages instead of one means you're loading all the ads and extra bullshit 3 times instead of once, and thus more data wasted

and mobile browsers also have scrollbars

"10 reasons why blahdeblah" spread over 3 pages, okay...

click the button to page 2, 404

yes, fucking 404

way to go, morons

Press the back button and get more ad revenue by trying to figure out what the hell went wrong.

Can freehosts do this, by the way? The 404 error.

Also, I normally don't go to articles that look uninteresting and click-baity. Yeah, you're right, this one sounds like an example of something with very little meaningful content and full of annoying crap.

Rip Gilvasunner Flintstones meme. His channel is dead, and the real Gilvasunner's channel is terminated?

Wait what? That's really weird. Last night, YouTube said his channel was terminated for me, and now it's back?

Arisotura

it was a different channel run by a troll or something

(GiIvaSunner vs GilvaSunner, capital I vs lowercase L)

(also, no need to quote the post right above yours)

you might have been looking at the wrong channel

also the whole "terms of service violation" excuse is very sketchy to me, this much more popular and well-known channel has been doing pretty much the same thing for years and hasn't been hit with anything

The fact that the channel trolls users is probably not the violation here. What I think is the violation is that they "stole" GilvaSunner's name. By presenting themselves with a very similar name, the YouTube team probably closed it down thinking it was impersonation.

Also, that channel was being operated by a group of people, not just a single troll (mainly Triple-Q from what I've seen though). They still have a twitter account which also "immitates" the original one.

Am I a bad web designer for creating my pages with Javascript?

you should use JS when it helps make the page better, that's all

Goddamit, Wired.

I just want to read one of your damn articles but then you have to shit an Adblocker overlay on me and now I can't read your article. :( Well, I'm going to install µblock now, I'm sick of this.

Adblock can disable elements too iirc

I hate sites that do some overlay crap while I'm in the middle of reading an article, ESPECIALLY on mobile.
