Honestly, I don't see why everyone's dissing Windows 10. It's not an epic milestone or anything, but it works fine for me and millions of other people.
Also, Windows 10 is much better than 8 or 8.1. Just take my advice on that. ____________________ Irony is the spice of life. |

Windows 10 is not great for some computers like mine because it's memory usage is stupid. It also forces updates down your throat and keeps reactivating things I turn off for a reason. It also deletes files for no reason at all. |

I may be repeating myself, but it's mostly the fact that it deletes software it deems 'incompatible'.
I wouldn't care if it gave a warning when running the program (like Vista did), I wouldn't care if it pestered me about it, but for god's sake, let me decide what to do. Windows 10 is basically taking decisions for you, which means that: a) you're sharing a computer with Microsoft, and not owning it. They have control over your files and programs. b) the OS can't trust you to take those decisions yourself, it's clearly made for morons Forced updates are in the same vein. It's less bad because keeping your OS up to date is good, but it has the same issue-- you have no real choice over when to do the updates, or whether to accept them. Sure, you can remove them later, but in that case, why force them to begin with? Especially if it happens to be a half-assed update that bricks your OS. ____________________ NSMBHD - Kafuka - Jul melonDS the most fruity DS emulator there is zafkflzdasd |

Speaking of that, when going to C:\Users, I see a directory called "RDV GRAPHICS SERVICE".
I'm not sure how it got there, but it's actually raising my concerns. |

Posted by StapleButter Yep. Happened to my Grandma's computer. An update broke DWM. Couldn't even log in, because the login screen requires DWM. Had to use recovery options to swap it for a dummy executable and enable autologon to get around all that .-. I'm never updating anything made by Microsoft again. My 8.1 machine (typing on it now) hasn't been updated since well before Windows 10 was really publicly known (2014?), and I still feel safer being vulnerable to all the shit the internet can throw at me than being subject to Microsoft's will. Disabling the Windows Update Service was one of the smartest things I've done in a long time :/ |

Microsoft hides a 'Get Windows 10' nag in a IE security update
see, these days turning off Windows Update makes more sense than ever, not even the security updates can be trusted to not contain crapware anymore ____________________ NSMBHD - Kafuka - Jul melonDS the most fruity DS emulator there is zafkflzdasd |

They don't give a shit anymore, it should be very clear now. You don't like it? Well, too bad for you. They know that you'll use it anyway if you don't have a copy of Windows 7, or something similar, not to mention most of the important tools we use are made for Windows. It isn't going to get better, I can tell you that right now. The big company's are trying to make it like that old Jetson's cartoon, and they are failing horribly. Our resources are being wasted on shit that we don't actually need. If this keeps on going; this is going to be a world filled with unnecessarily over complicated shit, and lazy people. There is a line between convenient, and too convenient.

I'm still not sure what Windows exactly has to gain from annoying people to use their crap.

Posted by supergamecube welcome to Wall-E I can see that great minds think alike the fate of Windows 10 will really depend on how many consumer sheep will be willing to accept Microsoft's bullshit and it smells bad indeed, considering that my parents are already into it (and they aren't idiots tech-wise) ____________________ NSMBHD - Kafuka - Jul melonDS the most fruity DS emulator there is zafkflzdasd |

I think in my family, my mom is the only one who upgrades to Windows 10.
But she's the same person who yelled at me for thinking that making FireFox the default browser caused her laptop to act out...she uses internet explorer....you can guess how tech literate she is. |

back in 2007 I'd use IE too... people don't know
because IE works fine for what they do, because sites are made to be compatible with it, because many people use it, because... vicious cycle, lock-in the same shit will happen with Windows 10 if there are too many sheep accepting it meaning that someday games will be made exclusively for DX12, and non-Win10 users will have to resort to compatibility layers ____________________ NSMBHD - Kafuka - Jul melonDS the most fruity DS emulator there is zafkflzdasd |

So, the program that says it'll fix my problem, is a problem? That makes a whole lot of sense.
Way to go Microsoft. And no, it didn't fix my problem. ____________________ MKDS Hacking & Modding Discord: https://discordapp.com/invite/CAktUYP |

I'm studying PHP, but I cannot access Codecadamy, because it fails to connect. It was working just fine yesterday, and I can use it on other devices, and successfully reach it through a Proxy. Though for some strange reason, I cannot access it through normal means. No matter how many times I restart my Computer, close Chrome, and reset my Router, it fails to connect.
I even attempted to reset my TCP/IP, and that didn't work either, even when I did it manually. Chrome says that one, or more network protocols are missing on my computer, but that can't be the case, because it was working just fine yesterday, and I didn't change anything. ____________________ MKDS Hacking & Modding Discord: https://discordapp.com/invite/CAktUYP |
