So, it's been a while since I've last been on these forums, and I've noticed: Even though SMG2 hacking has been "dead," there are still a few people that hack the game. So, I have a few questions about SMG2 hacking because I wanted to get back into it...
1. How exactly does the World Map Editor work? (This may be a dumb question.) 2. If I want to use the Ultimate Zone Template (created by SunakazeKun), do I leave all the files inside each LayerX folder, or do I remove the ones I don't want to use? 3. I read somewhere that Whitehole v1.1.3 can edit the game's cameras. Is that true? Thanks. ____________________ It's a me, legomariofanatic! HACKS IN PROGRESS: Retro Super Mario Bros. 1. You open WorldMap0X.arc in ObjectData. X is the world number and 8 is the grand world map
2. Just leave it as it is. 3. Every version that has the BCSV editor can edit the CameraParam.bcam. Camera areas are rendered in v1.2 only. Youtube | Github | Neo Mario Galaxy | Super Mario Galaxy & Super Mario 3D Land Modding |

Posted by SunakazeKun 1. OK! 2. So... if I want to port Flip-Swap (for example) into the Ultimate Zone Template, would I replace the Template files with Flip-Swap's files, or would I leave them both in there? 3. Cameras only render in v1.2... Got it! Posted by JakoNintenCraft Shouldn't you make a separate thread for that? ____________________ It's a me, legomariofanatic! Posted by legomariofanatic Err, why would you do that? The zone template is for adding new zones to a galaxy. Youtube | Github | Neo Mario Galaxy | Super Mario Galaxy & Super Mario 3D Land Modding |

I recommend you to create galaxies from the beginning. Use my galaxy template for that, it has all layers. Youtube | Github | Neo Mario Galaxy | Super Mario Galaxy & Super Mario 3D Land Modding |

Posted by SunakazeKun Oh, yeah. Forgot about that thread's existence. Also, three more questions: 1. Is there a tutorial anywhere for how exactly the World Map Editor works? 2. Is there a way to know which Zone hashes are assigned to each Galaxy's zones (in the BCSV editor)? 3. Are you the only one that is still active on hacking Super Mario Galaxy 2? ____________________ It's a me, legomariofanatic! HACKS IN PROGRESS: Retro Super Mario Bros. Oh... Hey, Splitwirez! Didn't know that YOU were also still a Galaxy 2 hacker.
Anyways... Do you know how exactly the World Map Editor works? I can't seem to figure out how to add new points and paths. (I know that moving them editing the X-Y-Z position of the point, but how do you add new ones?) ____________________ It's a me, legomariofanatic! HACKS IN PROGRESS: Retro Super Mario Bros. 1. I wanted to write a detailed tutorial back then, but the forums were closed
World Map Editor v0.4 has a lot descriptions for most of its features. 2. I usually note down my zone names along with theirs hashes, but you can change the values and test which zone it affects. 3. Splitwirez already gave an answer. Youtube | Github | Neo Mario Galaxy | Super Mario Galaxy & Super Mario 3D Land Modding |

I tried, but no one's responded and that error has been around for about a month and I really need to play-test my level. Darn SMG's sensitivity! ____________________ Irony is the spice of life. |

To: Anyone that Knows How the World Map Editor Works
I created a custom map for Worlds 1 and 2, but there are a few issues that I can't seem to figure out. 1. The warp between W1 and W2 is broken. (The warp in W1 activates on the space before the actual warp's location, and the W2 warp to W1 warps you inside the warp portal.) 2. The warp from W2 to W3 is broken as well. (The warp in W2 also activates on the space before the actual warp's location, and the W3 warp to W2 puts you on a map point that you can't move from.) If anyone knows how to fix these issues, please help me. Thanks! ____________________ It's a me, legomariofanatic! HACKS IN PROGRESS: Retro Super Mario Bros.
