I decided I was finally going to make a little game for the 3ds and I came up with this idea. You have a little box friend whom you can feed and play with. I only started working on this game last weekend. Because of this I don't have the entire thing planned out yet, things like the happiness and money systems are things im still working out. Another thing to keep in mind is that my c++ knowledge is still somewhat limited, im still learning a lot of things, so if you want to offer any tips and suggestions im open to them. I'll be working on this thing at hopefully a steady pace unless school surprises me with something, or if I get tired of it (bit of awkward wording).

Im not much of an artist, lol, the only reason the backdrop looks good is because it was done by an artist friend of mine who thought the old one looked terrible (and it did :P).

Am I the only one who thinks the box buddy looks like the square from Geometry Dash? No? Okay, I'll leave now...
Anyways, good luck with this! Also, if you want more attention drawn to your homebrew, I recommend posting here: https://gbatemp.net/forums/3ds-homebrew-development-and-emulators.275/. Tell them I sent ya. ;)

I know about the homebrew section on gbatemp, and I didn't post it there for a very specific reason. That reason being this game isn't even close to done, like, at all. The reason I posted it here is because kuribo64 has a generally smaller community, meaning that I can make progress and talk to others with out sifting through 20 posts asking why the game doesn't work or why they're getting a console on the bottom screen instead of graphics (which would be because its not done). Essentially what staplebutter said but with a few more reasons.

The Homebrew Section on GBA hasn't been about Homebrew ever since downgrading became a thing.

I applaud you for using C++. Hope it'll work out.
And yes, you might want to try improve the sprites :p

That's for sure. 95% of the homebrew community on GBAtemp are 9 year olds who want to install CIAs on 10.5.

The thing I hate most about gbatemp is the lack of moderating crappy posts. They are just left there, clogging up the forum. [/offtopic]

EDIT: yes, not always true. but more true than I'd like.

Update on graphics stuff, I commissioned the artist friend of mine for a few more sprites to update my old ones and we even brain stormed a few ideas, such as little costumes. Costumes are a nice thing because they shouldn't be too hard to add, so they won't distract from getting the main stuff working, and if they don't get implemented for whatever reason, no harm no foul.

Speaking of main stuff, I decided that to get money, you are going to have to play mini games and im starting with a Simon like game that generates a random set of buttons you have to memorize and press.

EDIT: Forgot this, just want to ask if anyone knows if ctrulib has some sort of "wait for keypress" function. I've looked through some of the examples and haven't found anything about it, if there isn't one i'll try to make my own.
