I guess there's like one or two other really dumb things he's done, such as taking a laptop out of its casing and putting it in a cardboard one thinking he was cool and getting lucky he didn't start a fire when he brought it to school, but there really isn't anything more to say about him really. On a different note, i've got more midterms today, so far i've been doing fine on them (haven't failed one yet) but i'm worried about my chemistry midterm because my teacher really likes teaching us things other than chemistry. Since its his only chem class its not like we can fall behind other classes, so he very often deviates from chemistry into physics (all of his other classes are physics so it makes a little sense). So uhh, I have a problem on my computer (I'm using another laptop).

Posted by saltypepper That doesn't sound good, probably a corrupted Windows install. If you are able to do anything (probably should enter safe mode by pressing F8 before the Windows logo appears), try running the following command: sfc /scannow I recommend doing it in the command prompt so the window doesn't close after it finishes. It'll scan for system errors and fix them automatically. It may not do that to all of the corrupted files and it might take a couple of runs for it to fix them all. If it doesn't find anything then you could try the following: sfc /verifyonly It'll scan for errors but not fix them, with that you know exactly how many and what files are damaged, if any. If it fixes the errors, then nice. If it doesn't fix anything, then I guess the problem is somewhere else. If it says it couldn't fix some files even after running the first command multiple times you'll have to manually replace them.
