your mom will not always be there for you, though

She almost never is there (because work), so I always take the bus, since my school is quite a distance from where I live.

It's an issue that exists all around North-America, as far as I know.

Wahwee.

See, this is why I'm glad my school for some strange reason doesn't have lockers.

Don't they have numbers on the lockers? How the hell would you find your locker in the first place if there are no numbers?

They changed both.

Originally, the numbers were in between 1 and about 800. Now they're 1200 through 2500 and have been shuffled around: Same Wing of Building, Different Place.

Sucks for making it on time to classes.

Heh, lockers. A few years ago, my school made a policy saying that you could take your backpack to all your classes (unlike middle school, where you had to keep it in a locker) so pretty much nobody bothers with them.

In middle and high school, lockers were useful for getting rid of your backpack during lunch.

Or anytime in high school, really. Middle school had arbitrary restrictions like "you may not access your locker during recess unless you have/had a PE course".

Middle school loved arbitrary restrictions so much it's scary.

I hate my college's strict rules. :( For example, if you are late to a class, you don't only get kicked out of class but you also get written up for it. That's right, you get this bullshit. If it isn't enough, since you are sent to the office to have the principal review what you did, they make you MISS all the other classes since you are put in detention (In Texas, its called ALC or ISS for some districts…).

So, not only am I missing out on my classes but also throwing my money away for not being there. $12,000 for a tuition in college isn't cheap, you know. Now, since I fear of being late, I wake up two hours early and go to college - in case there is traffic - and get there in time. If I notice that I have around 30 minutes to spare, I'll go to Jack-In-The-Box and order a burger there since it is like five blocks from the campus.

It seems as if when you aren't in a hurry, there's no traffic whatsoever but whenever you are running late, there's traffic jams everywhere. -_-

when school gets ruined by angry frustrated bitches who feel the need to control everything with a iron fist

The worst is when you can't even discuss it, because instead of treating you like an adult and listening to your opinions, they just slap you with discipline or ignore you. Bad kid, you aren't supposed to have an opinion or a personality, you're supposed to fit your mold nicely. Anything that doesn't fit will be punished or sent to a therapist, because that automatically means you're either mean or insane.

Neat, they've installed Up and Down Staircases. That's right, on the left side of the school, there are only two staircases. One is for going up, the other is for going down. You get in trouble if you do abide by the rule about going up and down, so everyone has to squish together to get up and down.

seriously? that's the most retarded thing ever

I'd go through the wrong stair just to see them get mad about it and make a big deal out of it, that'd be laughable

reminds me of that derpass teacher in middleschool: ENTER THROUGH THE LEFT DOOR. Who cares, moron. There are 3 doors and guess what, they all lead to the same fucking place.

some people so desperately need authority and arbitrary rules to feel that they exist that it's pathetic

Sometimes, teachers make their students' class experience miserable just because theirs was too. It's not our fault the teachers' had a bad experience so, why do they make our miserable? Just because they have the authority to do so.

I feel like schools nowadays want everyone to be EXACTLY like the principal wants you to. If you don't, you either get punished or something worse. It's like America is still practicing Culture Assimilation and doing the exact same thing they did to the Native Americans in the 18th - 20th Century!

The sad thing is that society is so brainwashed by education that they do not even care if they are doing something right or wrong. All they care about is making everyone be a clone. Anyone who isn't, gets an unfair punishment just because the one person isn't like the rest of the group.

Like forcing your parents to take you to a therapist. Because anyone who doesn't fit the mold is insane!

I actually always dreamed about that existing, having like highways of people. It really prevents accidents when having opposing people on the stairs.

In one of my classes, my friend was told that his opinion was wrong by the teacher. This was for some test and one of the questions SPECIFICALLY asked for the students opinion and evidence to support it. We are still scratching our heads over that one.

protip: when they tell you to give your opinion, it actually means "show how well you suck up to your teacher"

Yeah, a while back one of my other teachers explained that too, but this teacher who I talked about wasn't an ordinary teacher. Basically, he's an asshole and his "reasoning" defies logic, but yeah, I get what you mean.
