Everyone must have SOMETHING they enjoy doing. SOMETHING, ANYTHING. And even if you don't, why not just try out something new? Limiting yourself to your own current knowledge and experience just doesn't work...especially if you're a programmer of some sorts. Some last resort would probably be playing video games, but I can't imagine a person just sitting around all day doing absolutely nothing.
In Israel, an Ethiopian-Israeli soldier was beaten by white Israeli police. As if racism wasn't bad enough in the United States, it's the same deal in Israel. On top of discrimination against Ethiopian Jews, there is also discrimination against people who Middle Eastern or Muslim.
The world is a fucked up place indeed.
Its funny. We see these things happening in USA and Israel, developed countries, where racism is very small, but people are powerful enough to do something about it, they can report it to authorities and these racist are dealt with. People have power in these countries, things like this floating up to the media is good, this means people live in a democracy.
Back only 100 years ago, no media existed, and democracies were not as strong, therefore these acts happened 100 times more often, but were not brought to light as much as they do now, and of course, outrage would not happen.
You can look at all the other countries in the Middle East except Israel, and you'll see that everyone is very suppressed, they have no rights at all, if anyone even thinks about rallying and complain about authority aggression, they would just be executed or imprisoned. There is a wide variety of examples to show, there's Saudi Arabia, that recently reached the nice amount of 79 executions since the start of 2015, and believe me, there are people among those that all they did was voice their opinion. Read more Another example is Palestine, Gaza, some people wanted to denounce Hamas and tell the world that their "government" AKA terrorist organization, was placing weaponry in mosques, hospitals and schools. The first thing these people saw were gun barrels on their foreheads and a shot immediately after.
So these things happening in USA and other countries, is not good in any way, but the fact that they are being revealed to the public and demonstrations and riots are happening is a good sign, progress. The media uncovering all these things also shows the great democracy of USA and Israel, whereas you don't really hear about racism in most Arab countries, China, and others, because these DO have racism, and a lot more than we do, but are not exposed.
The U.S is ultimately ruled by law, not by the people, and legislators/senators/presidents/whathaveyou are elected by the people. This fulfills different criteria for both republics and democracies, thus it's a democratic republic, not a pure democracy.
Not sure if the same is true for Israel but I don't doubt it.
(just correcting you on your terminology, move along)
I once lied to get Root on Rydia's board. Yeah, I lied, but I fixed his board. And even then, he still demoted me. Now, I don't even get along with Rydia anymore. Oh, and that was back when I had grudges against most of the other former SMG2.5 members and I was on Rydia's side.
Now, I just laugh at how I was an idiot. Oh, and Rydia thinks I'm a guy for whatever reason when I have clearly told him I have always been a girl. Oh well.
