What is really nice to have is a 'PM the admins' feature.

The issue though is how to handle marking such PMs as read. Should they be read for everyone as soon as an admin sees it? Or be individual?

Assuming "everyone" means "all the admins", I think it should be individual.

To Moderators: Everyone.
To the rest: Individual.

That's how it works with the Reporting System, as well.

All depends, some situations are for different people sometimes. :F

As a precision, normal users don't receive the staff PMs (like, when people report posts).

Some ideas:

Normal users can move (and maybe trash) their own threads.
Users can choose if a post edit will show up on the main board page as a new post or not.
Users can remove their own +1's.

1. Sounds like something that could be abused rather badly. Moving a thread is also not a free operation given the forum counters that have to be updated each time.

2. Regarding that, the new board will just give people the ability to doublepost (as long as they don't abuse it). Common sense should dictate what goes in an edit and what goes in a new post.

3. This is a good one. +1's in general need a bit of reworking.

The only one of these ideas I agree with would have to be the last one, if +1s are even implemented in Acmlmboard Kuribo64.

EDIT: ninjaaa

So how is the progress on the switch overall so far?

This is the TODO list. Most of the shit there can be done quickly; the big ones I'm still on are the permission system (mostly done by now) and the PM threads (mostly done too).

(also don't ask where that board is; you're not getting in anyway)

"SMG2.5 page thing". What is that? Also, uh, what about adding the rest of the BB code tags to the post tool bar?

Those bbcodes will be in, yeah.

'SMG2.5 page thing' is, you know, how the SMG2.5 forums end up on a separate page rather than being with all the other forums.

Wow, that's a lot more than I expected.

What is the Relaxland hack?

PM threads mostly done. This is how it looks when you have some new messages. Is it good? Should I make the notification text bigger? Should I display the title of the conversation the last message is in? (it's displayed right now but when you hover over the 'last message' link)

Oh and maybe shorten the display to just the standard "you have X private messages"? when there is only one conversation? when nconversations==nmessages? always? never?

(please ignore the conversations with no participants set, that was the consequence of a bug that has since been fixed)

After all, displaying the last conversation's title directly isn't a good idea, that shit is private after all.

I have some other ideas (not connected to your question):

More buttons for tags like [ youtube ], [ code ] etc. A button there you can choose colors for your text that puts the text into a tag when you have selected the color (like it's on another board which I don't remember the board software). A button that shows all smilies that you can select the one you want, like it's on RVLution.

I still see no bad things to move your threads. It's just to place the thread in right forum if you've posted wrong, instead tell a staff and wait 1 day or something.

Another idea: when it says "posted by" in a quote then it would say the display name, not the "login" or real name or whatever. Everyone can have a title, doesn't depends of how many posts he/she has. And maybe something that makes profile comments conversations easier to read (I have no idea of how that could be fixed).

And yeah, sorry for my bad grammar.

But having smilies to choose from can encourage smiley spam...

Profile comments and display names aren't in the update.

He's saying that he thinks it's fine if a user can move their threads to the correct forum rather than having to wait a day for a staff member to move the thread.

I actually agree with this. The more I think about it, I don't really see how this could be abused. If anything some idiot could move their thread around more than once when unnecessary.

If common sense didn't dictate you where to make your thread in the first place, it won't magically tell you "hey moron this is in the wrong place".

And I don't want derpasses sending their threads anywhere through the board, either.
