Well all the installers aren't equally terrible. There are the actually clean ones that just do what you want, there are those that bother you to install toolbars and junk (and try to trick you by enabling it by default) but let you disable it, there are those that let you disable it but install it anyway, and there are those that install shit behind your back.

The last type should totally be considered malware, even if the intents aren't purely malicious.

Why not? It has actually become somewhat decent.


Now it only needs to be updated more than once every two years so it can keep up with the evolution of the web standards. But atleast Microsoft stopped thinking they could overrule the standards or something.

Oh and that's something that doesn't use Webkit, too.

Why start over, though? Is IE a total mindfuck internally or something?


It's kinda like IE for Mac. From what I read, that had a different rendering engine that was much more standards compliant than that of Windows IE. Why they kept it Mac specific is a mystery.
