I honestly don't like the design. Just being honest, oh honesty...

Where's Skawo's dead 3D map creator?

Skawo never said he was making a world map 'creator' never mind one that uses 3D models.

May I note that...

[StapleButter's crapo level]

I actually really like this level, so far. It's better than anything I've ever done! Can't wait to see it finished! (Well, actually I can, so...no pressure)

Sounds like a full-game hack is unlikely. Fortunately, it isn't as contrasting as single levels or whole-game hacks, so you could do a level pack. You don't have to (obviously, just wanted to be clear that I was just pointing this out for the heck of it), but if you want to keep going after this, but don't/can't make a full-game hack, there are other options.

I'll just, well, make whatever I feel like making. At one level per year (this level was started almost one year ago, really), a full hack would take quite a while (but sadly that's still faster than SMG2.5).

A level pack would be an option, but given how RVLution is going, I wouldn't really have a place to share it with people, aside from here. I left RVL, and I don't trust Kinnay's depot software security wise.

We should go to Nintendo as a group and ask for the source code! :D

Nah, they'll never give it. Make a Reggie Bot and steal it!

It hasn't been hacked yet :P
You're right though. Everything's done pretty shitty. A good hacker could probably find a way to mess up everything :(

You store passwords in plaintext, in a JSON file. I even remember reading that someone managed to grab the passwords and hacked RVL accounts with that.

He was an imposter who became a mod and deleted and banned everything. I don't think he got any passwords. They're hashed now by the way.

Oh, all good then.

I wanted to record the level since it's somewhat done, but meh, will have to wait. I tried downloading CamStudio and in the end it riddled this computer with adware and fucked things up. I removed the adware, but there are still things to fix.

Yeah, sad indeed :(

Uh...doesn't YouTube exist? People share hacks and stuff on YouTube all the time. Couple it with an external file host (K64 uploader could work, I would think), and there you go.

I'm tempted to mention adf.ly, but I have a feeling I'd get banned for that, so I'm not gonna, any further than I already have.

Some of my thoughts so far:
- Pretty good level, but could use some improvements
- Slopes aren't that 'creative', most look straight or slightly down, try adding more area
- the area at 0:43 in the video is weird (tiling-wise)
- 0:57 - incorrect tiling overlap
- 1:15 - creative
- 1:28 - slope toward flagpole looks weird/cramped
- consider adding a midway flag?

Overall, good job for a (first?) level. Good use of decorations, but tiling could use work.

Oh right, midway flag is one of the things I had to add back.

I'll look into that tiling shiz.

Expect a full hack by 2098 at this rate.

Also I don't see where there is 'incorrect tiling overlap' at 0:57. If you mean the part where the two ground blocks overlap eachother, that's done on purpose. And it doesn't look bad, either, imo.

Regarding the end slope, yeah, I might change it a bit.

Is this thread about a single custom level? What happened to the coins animation?

Dolphin Emulator. It does that. Same with the ? Blocks. IDK why. It tends to be a telltale sign of Emulation.

Arisotura, that is recorded on Dolphin, right?

Arisotura
Posted on 01-22-15 11:14 PM Link | #55016
Yes. And an old version, too.

Dolphin is able to properly render those animations, but iirc that sacrifices good performance.

Yeah, I meant that. I don't see many levels do that, IMO it looks kinda weird to have ground and then corner ground right on top of it.
