As of January 20th, Club Nintendo will be shutting down.
This is the current discontinuation schedule: 1/20/2015: Products released after this date are not eligible for registration with Club Nintendo 3/31/2015: Last day to earn Coins, register products with Club Nintendo, and sign up for new Club Nintendo membership 6/30/2015: Last day to redeem Coins or access your account on the Club Nintendo website. Club Nintendo program shuts down at 11:59pm PT on 6/30/2015. If you have a Club Nintendo account, your account and coins will NOT be transferred to the new loyalty program. There is said to be a loyalty program replacing Club Nintendo, but that is the only info of it. You can read more about it here. They also Announced an international Release of Flipnote Studio 3D.
Also, comparing Club Nintendo to PSN and Xbox LIVE, is like comparing a Banana to Spaghetti and Macaroni. I mean, Club Nintendo was nothing more, than a rewards programme, while PSN and Xbox LIVE are (Network) Account Systems, or Ecosystems. |

Yeah never really used this service at all, only redeemed coins but never claimed any of the prizes. |
