"Place a cop every square meter"?

... yeah, sure, if you use GTA's magical cop generator

Not only that, cops won't be able to do anything against an/many armed extremist(s) before the extremist gets to kill one or more people before being stopped. I meant IMMIGRATION LEGISLATION.

It's so cold this week. It's always feeling like -30ºC, and I'm cold when I wake up. I hate being cole when I wake up.
It was actually -40ºF yesterday with wind chill, and we had a day off from school :3

With the whole Paris thing, the entire situation is really difficult to deal with. Every solution seems to create new problems. Obviously you can't start banning Islam or anything stupid like that (more Muslims die at the hands of Islamic extremists than anyone else), especially in countries like France where basic freedoms are crucial to its identity as a nation. Basically the goal with these attacks is to create a fear of internal home-grown terrorists that exploit the freedom of such countries.

The worst part about it is that a large portion of these people are not afraid to die, so they will do what they need to in order to make their point. When the people of these free countries then start to oppress Muslims, then a couple more will resort to extremism. At this point two options are to either restrict freedoms within these countries to physically prevent terrorism (which quite frankly gives the terrorists the win) or send troops back to Iraq, which of course means more lives to be lost and eventually another extremist group gaining power in a few years due to the instability of the area (as was the case with ISIS after the operations of the West in the Middle East).

I think that in terms of internal actions we need to in a sense ignore the terrorists as opposed to oppressing the Muslim faith even more as a society. Of course those who committed the act are going to suffer (torture is a thing whether we like it or not and it's happening as I'm typing this), but we can't change our society simply because that's the goal of the extremists. We just need to focus our efforts on putting pressure on ISIS itself and get them out.

It's amazing how many people don't understand this part.

I think "freedom of speech", of course. But as the dutch saying goes "wat je zaait zul je oogsten", You are basically responsible for what you do, and what charlie does makes people outraged. I personally can understand that. Of course killing is not right but making fun of peoples religion this way? no, this was certainly expected.

Socially, yes, you are responsible for what you say. That's why well known people can have a rapid downfall for saying something socially unjust (such as Donald Sterling). It's true that these guys went out of their way to make fun of multiple religions, so yeah offense can be understood. It's France, though, and in France (like many other western countries) you can say whatever you want with the only thing to fear being other people's opinions. What these people are trying to do is eliminate the freedom of speech that is a staple of the western world. ISIS is appealing to young, potentially unstable Muslims in the western world who are taking these kind of actions. A better example of this would probably be Sidney since the Paris attack seemed to be a lot more organized and perhaps even ordered.

So yeah, outrage is to be expected, and this isn't the first time Charlie Hebdo has been attacked (some firebombs were set off in 2011 which weren't nearly as serious), but we can't let ourselves adapt to a world where this is to be expected, because if it is then those who would otherwise do what Charlie Hebdo does will not and our speech will be limited.

Depends. Consider that one of those idiots forgot his ID card in a leftover car, thus completely ruining the point of hiding their faces during the attack.

The terrorists are dead now.

Yeah, I saw.

You don't mess with France.

I'm not sure whether leaving their ID was an accident. They could have done it on purpose to confuse authorities.

What's the difference between Relaxland and General Chat?

MercuryPenny

Relaxland is basically a "World Of Insanity" type forum except with less braindead spamming.

General chat is for everyday discussion. Shit that doesn't have a topic that could fit in the other forums, but is still somewhat serious.

Relaxland is for the more crazy stuff, as MercuryPenny said.

I have a four day weekend. So today is my last day of school instead of Friday.
My weekend is busy. I have a playdate with two of my friends over four days.
So uh, life is busy. Who else has no school four days straight?

Life's busy when you have to go to work, pay your taxes, possibly tend to your pets (maybe children too), go to the store every so often, and having your mom drive you to your friend's house.

So uh, I'm going to a hotel on Sunday. Not sure how I can simplify that saying, but, yeah.

I'll probably still be seeing you guys around though. Free wi-fi for days.
Also breakfast, I like breakfast ^-^

I only like breakfast if it's Resee's cereal or Lucky charms.
Today my grandma's coming over to my house to stay.
For my brother's birthday we're going to Legoland hotel :D
