You could do something like this and use two-dimensional planes as the nozzles, I'm not sure you even would be able to notice that on the low-resolution DS screen. |

that is what I mean, It doesn't have to be totally 3d. You won't see it as much and its pretty low poly. Even the bowl can be a 2d picture which always faces the camera. |

These:
are the type of graphical glitches that are occurring that I need to try to reduce/fix which will only worsen with the addition of F.L.U.D.D.. If parts or all of it are 2D it would be noticable, especially when Mario presses 'X' to zoom in the camera and look around. |

So, how would the graphical problems need to be fixed in order to add F.L.U.D.D.? |

My (partial) assumption:
This is to-do with the polygon limit. The amount of polygons used by the course + actors is near the polygon limit, so only a small amount of polygons (if any) can be used for FLUDD (especially as it will be onscreen all the time). I wonder how Kaze did this though...my guess is SM64 or the emulator allow more polygons. |

It would be possible to add it without any slowdowns, I'm pretty sure. The problem is that the DS only can display 2048 triangels on screen at once. So by adding the fludd it would lead to more polygons disappearing |

WHY NOBODY HEAR ME? I'm a expert by making low poly stuff!

I think you have to remodel some parts of the model to make it less poly. |

Guys, take a hint.
FLUDD isn't happening. |

Posted by BlackYoshi485 If you want to try, here's the model. That's the F.L.U.D.D. model I ripped from SMS. I simplified it down from 1116 to 690 triangles and replaced most textures with vertex colours before leaving it. |

Now it has over 400 faces.

Posted by BlackYoshi485 Posted by Fiachra 400 polygons is way too many, that's not gonna work |

400 is unfortunately still far too many but thanks for reducing it anyway, it's still 290 fewer than it was. |

Making it smaller ie. just shrinking its size would actually make it worse, when zoomed in more of it would be visible and therefore more polygons would be drawn.
I've currently got it down to 360 polygons. I'm going to look at making it a separate object rather than attached to Mario's model, then I'll just make it unavailable in the levels that can't handle it well. Getting it to match Mario's movement will be very difficult though, I think I'll need to get values calculated during the animation code for one of Mario's joints. |

mmm If are only "Floating Boots" instead of fludd ?? ,maybe it can be done with less polygons
Boots that can use water for float in the air Like this ?? Hope you understand, Maybe can be a replacement of Fludd Because you have done already the Fludd Physics part of it I think Only Ideas ____________________ Working on SM64: A New Adventure https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxVwAPAQdnc https://i.imgur.com/qblZTfb.png |

I'd rather try and match what the original game does. Plus, I think boots that use water are too unrealistic moreso than F.L.U.D.D.. Thanks for the suggestion anyway though. |

What about the F.L.U.D.D. having a rectangular shape? sure it will look like a pole, but it may work. or maybe the F.L.U.D.D. could look like a "T" ? just a model of a T. is that a good idea? |

May not need to; I've got the F.L.U.D.D. model down to 308 triangles and using only vertex colours for colour with it still looking quite detailed and I think I've found a way that it can be made part of Mario's model without crashing the bigger levels.
