Ah okay. If you'll completely remove it, will be there a chance of saving enough space for either new levels or more custom music?? Or, something else?? :)

It doesn't save any space, of the multiplayer levels, 3 are levels from the main game but with different objects etc. and 1 is found only in multiplayer but can still be accessed in the main game like a normal level. The reason for not having more levels isn't that there isn't room in the game; it's that I just don't have the time; if I tried to replace all of the levels in the game after the Sunshine ones, the hack would take far longer to finish and progress is slow enough already.

Ah okay. I thought those were actual specific levels... Well, the more you know. xD
Quite understandable though, I'll say do what you want to do. Since it's a hobby project, no need to rush, right?? :P

Fiachra, Gericom has released an patch for using streamed music in many DS games, take a look in www.dshack.org if you're interested.

Steaming music in MKDS. Not SM64DS. Can't you read?

There hasn't been much progress in this hack recently but I am now able to import animated models from Mario Sunshine:

That looks amazing! But wouldn't there be some problems with the texture size and polygon amount of models directly ported from Sunshine?

It depends on the model, but yes, you'll probably need to tweak the model a bit such as reducing the texture sizes and lowering the polygon count. The biggest limitation though is that the skin can only contain 31 bones/joints as the relevant DS 3D command only supports 0..30. This particular model originally had 42 but luckily this was easily fixed; each petal had its own joint and was separately animated so I just deleted those joints and attached the petals to the rest of his head.

Apart from that I just scaled the second texture from 64x192 to 64x128 as it needs to be in powers of two. The other texture is 256x128 and the polygon count is 1120. These were left unchanged. This should load fine in a small level (which will be the case).

You'll also notice that the animations won't be quite as smooth as the BMD format doesn't support multiple weights per vertex; instead each vertex must be assigned to only one bone. There's nothing that can be done about that, unfortunately.

This looks pretty good, this project has some potentials, but please tell me this is not the final look for Ricco Harbour.

I would add the original background to the game, if that is what you mean.

I mean it looks unpolished, unlike Delfino Plaza.

Imported Petey Piranha from SMS as a custom boss for Bianco Hills:

Thanks to Stomatol for doing the music for Bianco Hills.

You're aware that nobody likes being bossed around, right? I'm sure it'll all come in due time.

Also, that's pretty cool work, Fiachra ^.^
