Got YSMENU working. ASM64DS is running, but it's not as cool as I expected it to be, tbh :p

WTF. Not sure if I love it or hate it. Nintendo, you don't just mess with my first Mario game without telling me first.

Average lifetime of a Firefox instance before it starts painting pages black or trying to give me a seizure: 10 hours

Nowadays' programming is truly awesome. Is it really normal to use over 800MB of RAM for 15 tabs? "But who cares if we waste RAM, we have tons of it!! :DDDD"

Mozilla really needs to get their shit together and actually add good features and fix bugs, instead of trying to turn Firefox into a Chrome clone. Have they never heard that concurrency means standing out against your opponents, not stupidly trying to imitate them?

Jokes are funny if you put them in at the right time in conversation, not if you just bring them up randomly.

I'm gonna be more active in Kuribo64. RVlution might be doomed. Sadly. :c However, on weekdays, not so much. But next week is Thanksgiving break so I get the computer longer! Yay!

I know. These stupid Youtube bugs make me weary to even be o Youtube for more than 5 minutes because otherwise it will completely destroy Firefox's rendering abilities. And the Chrome GUI being forced on everyone using Firefox is really irritating. Worst part is that I don't like Chrome, IE is terrible and there are really no good browsers out there. How fun.

Some alternatives were suggested in a thread I made about that a while ago.

Should get around trying one of them. If they are decent, that is. Last time I tried something else, Opera would keep freezing, and Chrome was no better (except it was tabs crashing instead of the whole thing freezing). Now that was quite a while ago.

So after using my laptop for a good 3 and a half years, its decided to BSOD about every hour of difficult use. So I figured it was time to get a new computer, this time I'm building a desktop.

So my case arrived today, the Corsair Air 240. It's one of the nicest cases I've seen in person. It's very small and compact for an mATX case so I will be able to expand my build later while still having a nice small computer.

Here's a whole parts list for my build. I'm getting a lot of good deals from Micro Center's Black Friday sales (Its still not even Thanksgiving) so that's why a ton of it is really cheap.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/rxdVbv

So I'm not completely sure what I should get for the processor. The i5 4670K is probably the best processor for the money right now (especially because its $180 at Micro Center right now), but the i7 4790K is a really good deal at $250. I know the i5 is the best processor for gaming but the problem is that I also want to use Blender, Adobe, and Record and Edit Video and I know that the i7 will help out pretty well in those applications.

So the GPU is the GTX 970. I'm pretty locked down on this, mainly because the insanely low power consumption and massive overclocking headroom. The 980 costs too much more for too little of a performance increase to be worthwhile (even though I love the reference cooler so much). Also because Cycles render in Blender is CUDA based I wanted to go N-Vidia over AMD, although the r9 290x is a pretty good card as well.

I can't wait to put this thing together after Thanksgiving. The processor will be at least two times as good as my laptop and the GPU will be a huge advancement over my laptop and my mom's desktop.

So if there aren't many updates from me its because I'm too afraid to use my laptop because I might just instantly lose all of my progress without warning. So I'll lay low until I get this crazy rig.

Damn, you got money to spare!

Yeah, the Nvidia cards are awesome, you getting a 970 is already huge, the card is very very strong, and IMO you're making the right choice picking that over the amd card, Nvidia is great, specially if you're not tight on money.

Regarding the processor, the i5 is good, the i7 is also good. I don't know where you got that the i5 is better for gaming tho. It's not, I dont think. The i7 doesn't offer any advantages over the i5 in gaming, but the i7 is either equal or better than the i5 in every aspect. In video/model/picture production, the i7 is the best out of the 2, so if you go for one, I'd advice the i7, specially since it's pretty cheap compared to the i5. Well, sort of.

And remember, with that rig, you better have 16GB+ of RAM. You should also add up the total wattage your system will use and get the right PSU, I recommend coolermaster or corsair, great brands. Also make sure your mobo is good. And last and certainly not least, the hard drives, you might want to get an SSD for the OS, just 8GB is enough and it'll boot your system up in seconds!

PS: If you notice that your stock (intel) processor fan is not cooling well enough or making loud noise, get the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, it's a great fan and I'm loving it in my rig, keeps my CPU cool and quiet. Not only that, but you can easily overclock the processor with this fan without worries of heat.
