When you extract the ARC for a planet or model in SMG, you get a BDL, KCl and a PA file. You also get a file with no extension named "CollisionVersion". What is this file for? You don't have to make this file when you make a custom model. |

"Questions that don't require their own thread" exists...
It's just something Nintendo left over to say what version the planet is, nothing really special. ____________________ a |

What do you mean? Has it with the collision to do? I wanted to post it in "Questions that don't require their own thread", but I wanted to document the file here instead. |

It is completely and utterly useless. It was to tell developers what version of the collision format is being used. ____________________ "I hate playing musical chats" ~ Quote of the month |

Isn't just one collision for every planets? The KCL and PAs names has the same as the planets. Also, why is it called collision? I know because it has with the collision with the object and other objects to do, but why is just called collision. Was it something someone here came up with? |

You're overreacting to a simple file that doesn't do anything.
It's useless. It was a reference. ____________________ a |

I did just wonder what it does and why it was there if it was useless. Before I thought it was like extra collision or something. |

Otherwise known as rob55rod. Should probably get back to SMG2 at some point... Level: 68 Posts: 295/1207 EXP: 2615984 Next: 112816 Since: 08-28-13 From: ._______________. Last post: 1961 days ago Last view: 1571 days ago |
Posted by Rainbow Mario It's neither useless nor important. It was likely useful to the developers, but it's just notes and such. It's of no use to us... ...Unless the devs documented the format in there or something... |

nah. Nintendo used Maya to make their models, iirc.
But, the file is useless, pretty much. ____________________ a |
