This may seem like a very stupid question but how exactly do I load a SMG hack on my Wii/Wii U? I recently installed The Homebrew Channel and some other stuff(Emulators and the patch to go on Wiimmfi) but how? I've never really stepped into the modding/hacking world that much, so what do I exactly do?

That isn't a stupid questiin at all. It would only be stupid if you didn't ask. It took me 2 years to figure out the answer. Let me save you the time and trouble by telling you. You'll need a homebrrw app called Riivolution, and a patch XML for it to read. I think there's a template somewhere here on Kuribo64. If you know XML, modifying the XML template to suit your needs and to simultaneously run multiple hacks will become easy.

Well, I don't know XML... I guess I'll go install Riivolution now.

Eh, it's not hard. I taught myself! Mind you, that was for an entirely different purpose (Spore Modding), and it was a coincidence that my XML skills would later benefit me in Wii game hacking. I don't just hack the SMG games, but also NSMBW, and I'm the first person ever to hack Spore Hero...atleast, the first person to modify that game's files. Okay, enough metaphors. My point is, XML is not as hard as it may appear. All you beed in order to teach yourself is a bit of time (doesn't have to be all at once) and some persistence.

But you can give him an XML and a folder there here will put the files. Everything will go faster Splitwirez.

Is SystemDataTable completely unused? The file contains information about ALL worlds, galaxies, heap stuff (I don't know what this is) and also mentions MarioFaceShipGalaxy2.

No, none of it is (from what I remember).

Alright, well I guess i'll go learn XML now. If I end up forgetting/just be lazy(i'll probably forget about it) I can just play some Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii or Another Super Mario 3D using Riivolution/Emulators.

But you can use an existing XML instead of create it self. Download it here: https://kuribo64.net/get.php?id=MMcTwzQD9Sea2Y1P
Just place the riivolution on the root of your SD card. If you edit a level, place it in SD card > riivolution > SB4E01/SB4P01/SB4J01 > StageData. If it is an object you edit place it then in ObjectData etc. If your SMG2 is PAL, place it in the SB4P01 folder. If your version is US, place it in the SB4E01 folder. You would know the game IDs. Here is it if you want:
SB4E01 = U Wiis
SB4P01 = PAL Wiis
SB4J01 = JAP Wiis

He doesn't want to hack SMG2, those are useless. All that he could use them for is a reference.

Is there a way to spawn baby Whomps without King Whomp?
I know that the actor is called "Pattan", but it doesn't show up anything ingame.

Is it possible to change the players model? See my video:

There I had a cheat code that did Mario to skeleton. The skeleton had an another model than Mario so does it work with other models?

Not really (sadly), but I once managed to successfully replace mario's face with another model, the game didn't care that the rigging was completely different. For the longest time, I've been meaning to replace Mario with a Xenomorph (WARNING:BIG HEAD BECAUSE OVERLAPPING MODELS) and retexture Bowser to look like a Yautja...

What??? Mario's face???? How is it possible. I thought he had animations for his face too. Do it work on a Wii? If so, I will make his head to Luigi's!

I never tested it on Dolphin, only Wii. I don't know if this applies to SMG1, but it certaintly does to SMG2. I have no idea how it's possible, but it works. In theory, even a custom model could be used!

Hit "B" in BMDView with SMG1's model and SMG2's and look at the similarities. If they match, then it would work.

I figured it wouldn't be hard to figure out whether or not it would work, I just...didn't actually go and do it.

Where is the texture animation for the models stored? When you'll open an animation in bmdview2 you can choose between file formats you want to open and there it says "btp file (texture animation)". I couldn't find any btp in a quicksand or lava model. But the models have the animation still. Where is it then?

Of course the lava and quicksand planets don't have BTP animatons. Do the textures animate? NO! They merely slide along and distort, which is the job of the mysterious btk animations, which (hopefully it is obvious that) BMDview2 does not support.
