EDIT: On Wii U Daily somebody sent an email to Nintendo about their confusion on not getting a code, and here is the main requirement: "You must have earned Platinum Status for the most recent Club Nintendo year (July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014). Having earned Platinum status for the current Club Nintendo year will not make you eligible."

EDIT 2: I'M SO ANNOYED RIGHT NOW! I was all ready to type in the code for GameXplain's contest and then it didn't appear for me. I realized he made the code a reply to his earlier tweet instead of a new tweet so I quickly switched and entered the code but it said the code could not be understood. Before you gus say it said that because someone else entered the code I later tried again, checking if I got the code right and it said that the code had been used. My theories are either I was first and it messed up or I registered the code at the same time someone else did. Please, if anyone has an extra code, please give it to me. Solaris can't you just let your friend borrow your 3DS to play the demo? Please, I'm desperate. :( All contests ended as soon as I got home from school.

I don't think they actually do anything. It's just that in the full game you use those coins to buy trophies and whatnot, and they didn't bother removing the coins in the demo :P

I play with a normal original 3DS (Although I'm getting a XL the same day the full game comes out) and it works just as nice as it does on the XL (my friend plays on one. And I'm talking about the gameplay itself here).


Although the XL is actually the better choice. Playing too long (and "too long" isn't as long as you think at all. It's like 20 minutes) on the normal 3DS makes your hands hurt unless you switch positions, which then becomes awkward. Having a bigger screen also helps because well this is Smash Bros so having a clearer and bigger view gives you the advantage.



Sooo to sum it up: The game is perfectly playable on a normal 3DS, but it's better with a XL. Still, if you only have a normal 3DS then I'd still buy the game upon release. Just take 5-10 minute breaks after every 20-30 minutes you play and it should be fine. You CAN get used to the small screen and it doesn't hinder you at all; It's just that the XL makes it even better :)

But on the full game, people are reporting slow down sometimes (perhaps different stages)

But smahs 3ds takes a heavy toll on the normal 3DS. When you close the game, the system needs to reset. And you cant use miiverse. The new 3DS wont have this tho.

When I play solo it doesn't lag at all and maintains a steady 60fps, but if you play with other friends nearby (with their own copy of the game) it sometimes lags heavily if the people are too far away or one/both of the consoles have low battery.

I believe that if there are lots of items and characters on the same time on-screen the framerate will also drop slightly, but that isn't very noticable.

I wonder, can the adapter for the GCN controllers can be preordered? I dont want to get the 100$ bundle, as I already have 3 GCN controllers (not in the best shape, but hey, they work) and I am proficient with the wii remote.

Still looking to buy in the future a GCN controller tho.

Yeah. Sakurai has been pushing this game back quite a bit, so hopefully everything is optimized the best it can be
