How do I replace the tree texture in SM64DS, or any texture in general?

you can't edit the tree like the others so I will give you the path to it.

go to 3D model > Import other model > open the data tab > open normal_obj > search tree, and you will see four trees. select the tree you want to edit and when you see the import tab you click on Texture and TBP editor. and there you have it.

but I have a warning. when I did it the sounds got all messed up. so you might wanna have a look at it when that happens.

That issue was only in the US ROM's and was fixed months ago, you should be able to edit all of them normally.

You need to send me the model that causes this and details of all of the settings used; I can't do anything if I don't know how to replicate the problem.

This is the Model: RainbowRoad

Only this and a another Model have problems with SM64DS.

Seems to be a problem when creating a collision map with no faces, set 'Drop faces below' to zero.

Is it right (Star ID):

Parameter 1:

1 - 1st star
2 - 2nd star
3 - 3rd star
4 - 4th star
5 - 5th star
6 - 6th star
7 - 7th star

Inside /ARCHIVES/arc0.narc

Is it right (Star ID): ...

You could check that yourself by going to a level where you know the Star ID, finding the Star object and checking. For example, Whomp's Fortress, Star number 2 is on top of the tower. Check the parameter there.

That's what the 'Texture and BTP Editor' is for.

The KCL editor lets you:
- Edit the collision type assigned to a face
- Import a KCL file from OBJ or DAE
- Export a KCL file to OBJ

There's no one '.bin' filetype. .bin files could contain anything, for example the overlays are .bin files, some contain level data whilst others contain code.

oke I have this new phenomenon which goes this way: before you import something in the rom, the rom works fine. you can go in all rooms and levels. when you import one map into one level, levels on selection while crash. I have reported the playroom and lethal lava land. it doesn't matter which level you will import. these levels will always crash.

when you import a map into a second level. that is when everything goes wrong. the whole rom crashes after seeing the nintendo logo.

I don't know if it is the fault of the rom or the editor. I don't get any errors or something. maybe we should add rom recommendations if it is the fault of the rom.

I'm don't understand your problem. I imported a level over Lethal Lava Land, Playroom and Bob-Omb Battlefield and all three worked fine. Are you sure your problem isn't something like texture animations? See the first post of this thread for common causes of levels crashing.

No one else has had issues importing more than one level.

Jesse

no, animations isn't the thing. I already checked that.

even if I only import a square with one derp texture in bob omb battle field. lethal lava land and the playroom will crash already.

Have you edit the bank? Because when you save a course with objects (Non exist objects) without the right bank settings will freeze your course.

Jesse
Posted on 07-06-14 04:55 PM Link | #43705
no I did nothing except importing the course and deleting all the objects.

StarLand

Also the warp/view objects?

Jesse
Posted on 07-06-14 05:52 PM Link | #43707
no, I know what to remove and what don't... like I said. a few levels crashes. while the imported level doesn't crash. Or its the rom or its the emulator. I doubt the editor now.
