This is a a small tool I wrote yesterday for automatically organizing files. It lets you specify one or more directories that should be monitored for file changes, and then moves files placed in them to other directories depending on patterns. Files can be matched by their file name or their MIME type.

If you want to use it, you'll need to install Node.js (and its package manager, npm). Grab the repository, change to the directory it's in and run npm install to set up the dependencies, then just run node redirectory.js. By default it'll run in the background, but you can disable this with -n if you want. You can see all the available options with --help.

It's cross-platform. I've tested it on Linux and Windows, and I see no reason why it shouldn't work on Mac.

[link removed because it didn’t work, I don’t think I have the source anymore]
