I find all the people going "The ideas already used up" amusing, given that we're a site based around the creation of 3D mario levels, and we're still coming up with new ideas.

This. Also, it's not a tired gimmick because there are infinite things that can be done with it. It was the best direction Nintendo could have taken with the series before they were all like "Oh, people like Tanooki Mario, this means that we just need to stop innovating because people like the old stuff".

I would more than welcome an SMG3. You know, as opposed to a SM3D3 or a NSMB3. Oh, and SMS2 will never happen for the same reasons listed above. Ninty thinks that it didn't sell as well.

Of course, one can up with new ideas, but they still use the same engine, which feels the same (like the NSMB series)

Eventually you get something that feels like an expansion pack :P

But of course, people will still like it (see: NSMB games)

I guess it depends on whether you like expansion packs :)

I personally think that the plot of both Galaxy games was negligible, and just the galaxies were all I cared about, to the point where I just neglected peach and finished all of them.

same here, but i can't say that the sms plot is any better (please dont hate me for this, I dont want a debate, i'm just saying that if smg had a better story, all of you would already be rooting for smg no matter what)

Yeah. It can work, like the NSMB games.

But then you have too many people whining that nintendo is doing more of the same and they want more new stuff.

I wouldn't mind another SMG3, but I would better like to nintendo to try and make something new/different.

Also lol, since when the story is important in a mario game? Im sure most people dont care about it. (because its the same; peach gets kidnapped, etc, etc etc.)

Yeh, but still, having an actual story line would be something new and good

> story in a video game
> new or good

lol

SMG3 wouldn't make much sense since Nintendo has at least some level of originality. I don't think they would want to revisit Sunshine either - and remaking SM64 was already done and when Nintendo remakes a game, say goodbye to any sequels.

Wait.

We're talking about the same Nintendo here?

The one that rereleases a mario platformer every few years?

The one that owns pokemon?

The originality on the mario platformer is on the level design, not the engine/concept :P

As for pokemon...idk, maybe the designs of the pokemons :P

*ahem* NSMB2 *ahem*

If Nintendo's gonna make SMG3, they better have original ideas.

Two is enough. I would play a third, but that doesn't mean I like the idea. I'm more towards SMS2. I feel that F.L.U.D.D isn't recognized as much as it should be. They need another Super Mario Sunshine.

Well, SMG was a Mario revolution, SMG2 was even more fun. If Nintendo makes SMG3 that game would have potential to be the best mario game ever made. (But only if Nintendo improves several things, e.g. the world. I mean we are in SPACE! Why are the galaxies so limited?)

They need to include more things than just power ups.

New original 3D Mario (please nothing like the SM3D series), SMS2, or sequel to SM64. Everything else would disappoint.

I would rather like a SMG3 than a SM642, but Nintendo really needs to try something new. If there is gravity things in it, sure, but there needs to be something new, and not just new power ups/characters.

But SMG2 was't very much similar to SMG1, but it have new powerups, enemies, bosses, characters and such. I don't think SMG3 will be soo different. But things must be similar and new from the SMG1 and 2. Maybe the Fire Bros. and the Koopalings will be in SMG3. But SMG are in the space, so I don't know if Nintendo want to have the classic Koopalings in different galaxies in the universe. It must be new bosses everywhere in all the many galaxies. It would be cool with new bosses, aliens in the universe! Bouldergiest is a really cool boss. And he was in SMG1! So SMG3 will have very cool bosses. And TheSpeedyMouse, will a new part of SM64 be called SM642? I think it would be SM65 :)

I would like a new Super Mario galaxy 3. just think of 3D world, and I've been hearing around that there where tons more of ideas for SM3DWorld. just imagine them putting them in a 3D gravity filled game. Just think of what happened with Super Mario galaxy 2.5. it got canceled, yes, but all those ideas could be added into the game ('cuz there where a lot :P) and just throw in some really good creative levels. there's more they can do with a new SMG and im down with it! :yum:  [image]

I really don't know how I feel about a SMG3. I thought that The original and 2 were enough, and that it didn't need a third.

As for SMS2, that's up to Nintendo, since most people liked it and others didn't. Personally I liked it, so I guess i'd prefer a SMS2 over SMG3.

Also, since we have an editor for Galaxy, maybe someone can make a fan made SMG3? Just saying.

And SM642. http://www.mariowiki.com/Super_Mario_64_2 This page states that it was just a game for the failed 64DD and it was cancelled. But...

http://www.mariowiki.com/Super_Mario_128 ...This page states that it turned into a game for the Gamecube called Pikmin. So if you've played Pikmin, then in a way you've played what could have been SM642.

While Super Mario Galaxy 2 is my favorote Mario game, I think a Super Mario Galaxy 3 would be milking/botching the Super Mario Galaxy series.

So, I want a Super Mario Sunshine 2.

Basically, that is SunakazeKun's Super Mario Galaxy 3.A. So yeah, Nintendo doesn't need to make a Super Mario Galaxy because it's all right here.

But his 3.A doesn't include any custom models from what I heard, just planets in the game.

Nope. Splitwirez is currently trying out his custom planets for SMG3.
We're also going to use planets from SMG1 and probably the old Rolling Halfpipe planets.
