Soo game just launched a little while back and it's already made a internet phenomenon/Meme. "Luigi's Death Stare", where people film Luigi driving past hurt people while looking at them menacely. If you haven't heard of it, here are 2 videos:

Posted by PaperplateismGuy You just tilt the analog stick left while you watch any highlight reel/replay in-game and you get slo-mo. My thoughts on the game? It's pretty incredible. Here is my review:
Mario Kart 8 has a lot to live up to. After all, it's coming off of the terrific Mario Kart 7. With the move to HD, the game really takes advantage of the improved hardware, and features an orchestrated, jazzy soundtrack. Course design is terrific with the new Anti-Gravity freshening things up heavily. Although it can be hard to notice, it makes the already-wild courses even more wild. Graphics: The game is beautiful. Although character models could have had some more texture work (especially DK), the courses themselves look beautiful. Framerate is smooth, and the courses definitely take advantage of HD - 9.5/10 Sound: Brand new voice clips and an Orchestrated Soundtrack bring this game alive. By far the best Mario Kart Soundtrack, with catchy tunes playing in Mount Wario, Mario Circuit, Electrodrome, Cloudtop Cruise, Sunshine Airport, and Thwomp Ruins. But the cherry on top is the fact that most Retro Course themes are remixed/orchestrated! Nostalgia hits you hard, even harder with better instruments. Glorious. - 10/10 Gameplay: The most important aspect of the game is handled with care. Every aspect is balanced pretty well (with the exception of the coin item in first place), and the gameplay is smooth and enjoyable. Items are handled well, and so is drifting. Anti-Grav works just like it should, but the added boost effects add some new variety. Glider and Underwater sections return as well, and work great. One nitpick is that the game feels just a tad too slow. It's not bad, it's just a preference. No game has matched the speed of Double Dash, and I heavily miss that. Kart customization is back and works great. Some people might not like it, but I actually appreciated it. Battle mode is entirely forgettable, with a poor design choice. On the upside, online play is AMAZING and even better than Mario Kart 7's amazing online play. - 9/10 Lasting Appeal: The courses will want to make you want to replay them over and over again. The package is very nice and fits together nicely. You have all of the expected modes for Mario Kart here, but with a game this good, would it have been too much to ask for a better battle mode? How about the return of mission mode? Or Bomb Blast mode from Double Dash returning? The character roster is also incredibly lackluster, despite it's incredible size. So many characters are so similar that variety is heavily missing. Why so many babies? I still don't understand why Baby Peach and Daisy (plus Baby Rosalina now) continue to race, especially since 2 of these babies were created just for Mario Kart. They're stupid characters. The Koopalings were cool and all, but where is Bowser Jr? Also, where is Diddy Kong? Dry Bones/Bowser? KING BOO? Birdo? So many classic characters left out. But VS mode is back, thank god. Custom races for the win! Overall, a decent amount of Lasting Appeal, but could have had more. - 8/10 Overall: Not the best Mario Kart, but it settles for a solid second place, with Double Dash taking the lead. They did indeed step it up, and this polished, jazzy Mario Kart is the best one we've seen since the Gamecube - 9.3/10 ____________________

My only protest is "F*** NINTENDO FOR CHOOSING GOLDEN PEACH OVER DRY BONES!".
1/10 for stupid character roster. 9/10 for gameplay and graphics. |

So I was playing around in Audacity and to go from Moo Moo Meadows Final Lap music to the normal one, change the tempo to -15 percent (150BPM to 128BPM) and then change the pitch to a half step down. That's literally all it takes. I'm not making this up, listen. ____________________ "I hate playing musical chats" ~ Quote of the month |

Posted by gridatttack I would buy that just because E. Gadd. He REALLY needs to be playable in a game soon.... Also I was disapponted to see it was a fake. At least the possibility of real Mario Kart 8 DLC is still high, and hopefully they'll announce it tomorrow ____________________ Former SMG2.5 Advertiser and one-time Level Designer/Artist - So Apparently Norway is rich while Denmark and Sweden are happy. Just got the game today-awesome! It was a bit hard to control at first and I had to adjust to the controls a bit.
Graphics, beautiful (Not perfect, but close to) Music, catchy Tracks, fun to play and very well designed. a bit short though. Overall gameplay, fabulous I really love the slo-mo button. Its really useful to see exactly what happened in a very short amount of time. My only true complaint is that you really notice the lack of FPS when playing with 3 or 4 players. I know that's designed because of the lag that may occur when playing with more than 2 players. It does get slightly annoying. I really hope to play this on our best HD TV. It'll be amazing Also[Sorry], what's the difference on those pictures, cause I can't see what's the problem in those circles? ____________________ Remember, every user has to start out somewhere,- Every time I look back at my old posts, I cringe. |

It appears that the new Amiibo figures will work for Mario Kart 8. This creates a highly likely chance for MK8 DLC, especially with Diddy Kong (who was a surprising absence on the MK8 roster). ____________________

If you go onto Toad Harbor and turn 90 degrees to the gravity ramp on the wall. (so your facing straight up, while you're on the wall) After you're in that position, back up slowly down the wall. What you'll find is something that happens in just about every videogame - camera 'glitches'. It will go through the collision and the visible mesh. You can see what's behind the gravity wall. If you look closely, you will see the hills in the background cutoff.
I really like seeing what's behind the visible in videogames. ____________________ Remember, every user has to start out somewhere,- Every time I look back at my old posts, I cringe. |

I'll have a video soon, hopefully today. But I find that interesting. Im soon going to go to best buy, and see If I can purchase the original E3 demo, see if that anything interesting. (usually E3 demos aren't released into stores, but best buy had gotten the MK8 demo disc)
Edit: Ok, well here it is. Remember to look at the bottom of the screen when I go onto the gravity pads. Pause it whenever the camera gets below the model. ____________________ Remember, every user has to start out somewhere,- Every time I look back at my old posts, I cringe. |

That's not really a glitch, more as a way to use the camera to see behind. Still very cool! |
