I would like to present to you my new custom level in the works. this level is mainly flower themed because I love flowers
here is a early model of a round planet with some flowers. mario must collect stars chips on the flowers with the bee suit. I would like to ask some questions so that it can help me with this project: - how to make a custom zone - is there also a template for the fluffy bluff galaxy like how they did with the RedBlueExGalaxy? because I want to locate this level in the fluffy bluff galaxy. |

Looks really good, I suggest lowering the polygon count a bit so the wii can cope with it a bit better. Anyway I look forward to playing it ____________________ Remember, every user has to start out somewhere,- Every time I look back at my old posts, I cringe. |

Posted by PaperplateismGuy this planet counts now 22891 polygons, is that too much? |

Just barely, but that is counting Mario's model which adds a lot, so it should be good. The max you can have in one model is 21845. ____________________ "I hate playing musical chats" ~ Quote of the month |

not that is without the mario model, but it looks like I cannot use much polygons... |

It's not a Wii limit, it's a model limit. It's the way the file works, you can only have 65535 vertices divided by 3 is 21845 polygons. You could easily split it up into 2 models, IE the inner planet and those white pillars, and then a model for the flowers. ____________________ "I hate playing musical chats" ~ Quote of the month |

Posted by NWPlayer123 Wait what? Does it count each intersection of lines as multiple vertices? Because otherwise two polys can be only 4 vertices..? |

I don't know how it all works, I haven't looked in-depth on if it does that with the importer, but that's the basic idea.
Just tested it, apparently it does merge them, but ~22000 is a good ballpark to go for regardless. So as long as you don't go over that many vertices you should be good. ____________________ "I hate playing musical chats" ~ Quote of the month |

Well, yeah, too many models of that size and you have developed "SMG 2... ... ... ...5: The Slideshow". |

tbh there have been too many galaxies that focus on starchip collecting...I'd rather have a new gimmick but that's just my opinion.
Other then that, that looks really nice! ____________________ a |

so yeah I throwed away that model because it was too messy and stuff. so I made a new model, this one has around the 23000 polygons but that is because the flowers have a double layer so that It can be viewed from both sides
this model looks way better... don't you think? |

Much better. Quite professional. I'd say that has to be the best custom planet ever modeled IMO. Status: It was really, really fun, guys - thanks for the ride!

Wow that looks awesome! I can't wait to play on it! I have only started using Blender so I would of never have been able to make anything that good! Is this for the demo or just a custom galaxy for fun? |

sorry for waiting for an update so long but I have collision problems. when I make the collision of my planet the collision will be like it exploded which is very hard for mario to walk on. I converted the kcl to see what it was... and then I saw this...
this is an edited version of the planet with way less polygons so that it fits for collision. I don't know what the problem is. however the "octree" settings might have something to do with it. although I don't know what they mean... |

You have to triangulate the model before you export it... ____________________ "I hate playing musical chats" ~ Quote of the month |
