Holy shit, this game looks awesome. Will buy for sure. But one question remains... do you think they will make it possible to dodge red shells? (now that items cant be held behind you)

So now we know the final playable Roster AND all the courses (and most of the car parts). I'm too lazy to list them again but if you wanna see just go to Super Mario wiki 
Also dat MK8 direct: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbuJZP0_8iQ I loved it. The Kart Customization Part (starting at 07:20 in the video) was absolutely hilarious. WTF did I just watch? It sounds like......Car Porn. Seriously when you listen to that it doesn't feel like the talk is about MK8 at all. I was watching it with 7 other friends and we were dying laughing at that. Personally I dislike what they did with the Roster. WHERE WAS KING BOO? Also IMO I dislike how they're just making up new random characters that will never appear again (outside of a future Mario Kart game) instead of bringing back recurring ones that people like. (Pink Gold Peach? REALLY? I didn't think that the demand for a heavy Female character was that high. I'd rather have Honey Queen return in that case). It's not like they didn't have any characters to choose from. Ok. The roster is mostly BS. Time to say what I like and dislike.
Of the default characters, nothing surprising, yet nothing bad. But where was Diddy? As he's been in both previous console Mario Karts, and continues to appear in DK games and the Smash Bros series. Also, where was Bowser Jr? Then they revealed a slew of new characters. Rosalina - awesome. Great to see Metal Mario, Shy Guy and Lakitu back as well. Baby Mario and Luigi - fine. Baby Peach... NO! Baby Daisy... NO NO HELL FUCKING NO! Blargh. Then they surprised us with the Koopalings, and they felt like a great addition to a toddler riddled roster. I was secretly hoping for King Boo, Dry Bowser, and Petey. Then I would be SO HAPPY! And it made sense for Dry Bowser to be in it b/c he has a course dedicated to him. Then came the final additions to the roster. Pink Gold Peach and Baby Rosalina. I was severely let down. But to put the nail in the coffin, this appears to be the FINAL FUCKING ROSTER. They can put 3 fucking useless babies in the game, and not put Bowser Jr., Dry Bowser, Diddy Kong, Petey Piranha or King Boo in the Game. This makes me sick. Just please Nintendo... Please tell me that the select screen is a bluff and there are more characters to come... ____________________

Honestly, I would have been completely happy had they just used MKW's characters and added the Koopalings. Geez, Nintendo, it's not that complicated!

Sooo y'all know that when you register MK8 at Club Nintendo you can get 1 of 4 games free..
But it turns out that in Europe, you can choose between 10 different games (among them Wonderful 101, Monster Hunter, Sonic Lost World, Game & Wario and so on). Umad America? No seriously I'm glad that Europe is gonna get the most out of MK8, with this offer as well as the EU-only collector's edition.

I am also disappointed at the roster. Really the only route they could take to put more characters in if this is the final roster is DLC which probably won't happen. How do we know this is the complete roster? Maybe there is a secret character that won't be known until the game comes out or maybe they haven't announced all the characters yet. Is the only reason people think this is the complete roster is because of the leaked image and there is 30 characters? There could easily be another row! Did Nintendo say this was the complete roster or something? |

The characters are lined up perfectly and there is simply not room for another spot. Also Nintendo never leave secret characters in Mario Kart. They didn't keep the characters of MK7 a secret so why would they do it now? Also Nintendo have already officially said that there will be only 30 characters (which is fyi more than in MKWii) The roster is FINAL! People just need to accept it. There's no point in thinking "oh there might be something more".
