You've got it wrong, this whole Lucario is back thing is making the chances of mewtwo coming back less ;-;, Sakurai won't have more characters, he'll simply cut characters. Why? Because he for some reason doesn't like taking use of Wii U's extra power.

That doesn't mean it at all. Who says Mewtwo and Lucario can't be together (they can just replace the Pokemon Trainer with Mewtwo). IMO Lucario returning only makes Mewtwo's inclusion more likely, since they both have Mega Evos, have been prominent and I think even Nintendo knows that Lucario vs Mewtwo is any Smash fanboy's wet dream.

NOTE: The following rant is targeted at fanboys in general. I'm not referring to SSL (even though I quoted his post above)

People forget that unlike people like Dr. Mario, Pichu, Young/Toon Link and the like, Lucario IS NOT a clone of Mewtwo. Their movesets are completely different. All they have similar is the neutral B (Shadow Ball/Aura Sphere) and a similiar but still different Forward Smash. THAT IS ALL! (and the fact that they are from the same franchise)

Mewtwo has literally no relation to Mewtwo. Its like saying that R.O.B replaced Dr. Mario in Brawl and that Lucas replaced Pichu

And I still don't understand why people want Mewtwo. He looks cool, but that's about it. He SUCKED in Melee and has multiple times been considered the worst character in the game (even worse than PICHU). I just started playing Melee again and I was incredibly disappointed with Mewtwo. The only thing he's got are great throws, great recovery and great projectile. EVERYTHING else is bad. His down smash is the worst in the game, he is easy as fuck to juggle, he is light and yet tall (the worst combination), his side-B is the worst reflector in the game (and generally useless) and while Disable can be used its really situational and will almost never work well on any people with any sort of skills. Oh, and his aerial attack suck. Hard (only remotely useful one is his forward air, which is just a worse version of well EVERYONE else's forward airs)

Lucario however was a great character, and is considered very high-tier. He has a unique gimmick that is useful, he actually has usable Aerials (Mewtwo gets my vote for worst Melee Aerials HANDS DOWN), good recovery (although Mewtwo had slightly better), good weight/height, usable finishers and all his Specials are useful except maybe for Double Team (which is still better than Confusion).

In short, the people who think that Lucario instantly means No Mewtwo, that Lucario is a clone of Mewtwo and that Mewtwo is superior character can go F*** THEMSELVES HARD!

Sorry for this rant but this is the hard truth that people have to understand and I get pissed off when casuals attack a very unique and good character just because they like a hardly-usable, worse one better.

Some people like mewtwo better, don't call us fanboys just because we prefer mewtwo over lucario. I never called you a fanboy for always being on Nintendo's side even when it's clear they are at fault.

So uh...just because we prefer mewtwo better does not make us "fanboys"

That's like calling Charizard and Bowser clones cause they're heavy and they share a Flamethrower. Or associating EVERY character with a sword as clones (Marth/Ike/Toon Link/Link/Meta Knight) because they all share a Down-Smash. -__-

Those people are all blinded by Nostalgia and fanboy rage, and that's a fact. I'm not saying that you're suddenly not allowed to hate Lucario and love Mewtwo, but if you don't have a REASON to do that other than shit lies like "Lucario is a clone", "Mewtwo came first!" then you are a fanboy, and you just have to accept it.

Please get your logic out of the trash can. As Timmy said, Mewtwo and Lucario are totally different characters with different playstyles. And I prefer mewtwo, he plays better. Get over it. >.<

To be honest I found this direct very very disappointing because we all saw this coming and I can't really be a fan of Little Mac when he only has like 3 games Oh and the instant KO move caught me off guard too, hope that doesn't break the game.

I'm not complaining or anything, I just think we all saw this coming.

I didn't. With the Super Smash Bros. boxing stage being confirmed from the very start, I had a feeling that we wouldn't see him in the game. But then when he actually gets revealed, BAM. IT WAS A PUNCH-OUT STAGE ALL ALONG!!! Sakurai, you troll!

Well at least it balances him. LM has major advantage on ground and combos, but his weakness is aerial and projectile attacks. I'd say he's just right.
