After Iwata's big failure speech, he said something about thinking about the phone industry. Now a ton of companies are making all kinds of statements that Nintendo should release a Mario game or two on IOS so Nintendo can get back on track.
I personally, am a supporter of this, this is a good way to get Nintendo back on track, and i'd LOVE a real Super Mario 3D Land-style Mario game on the IOS (not 3D Cartoon Land Safari >.>) I don't think Nintendo should STAY like this. But it would certainly help for a limited amount of time. |

Just to correct you, it's iOS, not IOS. IOS is the microkernel-based operating system running on the Wii/Wii U's ARM core, while iOS is Apple's operating system for mobile devices based off Mac OS X. |

It's not just pachter. And if Nintendo doesn't, they can enjoy their shit Wii U sales, or find another way. |

Releasing games on iOS is something they shouldn't do in general.
I'd like them to release ONE good Mario/Zelda/Pokemon/whatever for iOS but not any more. They should make one game for phones just so we can see the reception. Only If the game becomes a worldwide phenomenon and/or the most downloaded game on iOS then they might CONSIDER making another. But really they should make one small NSMB game for iOs. It doesn't have to be original or anything (just take NSMB2 for the 3DS and edit some levels: profit), but I think that everyone here knows that a good Mario Platformer on iOS would probably be one of their best-selling games. There are already so many 2D Platformers that are hilariously bad copies of Mario that sell well on app Store ("Lep's World" for example, which was popular enough to get TWO sequels). A TRUE 2D Mario on smartphones would blow the competition away (again it doesn't have to be as good as the other console NSMB games, but heck as long as it's as good as the original NSMB or NSMB2 it's more than enough for everyone). So yeah a 2D Mario is the only thing I support regarding this, since the iOS Market just craves a good 2D Platformer, EVERYONE wants a 2D Mario on smartphones (just admit it) and we all know that it's going to sell really well. I also don't really think Nintendo can make a good Zelda game on iOS, and even if they can I'd rather like them to just save any original and great concepts for the upcoming Wii U zelda :p ____________________ Former SMG2.5 Advertiser and one-time Level Designer/Artist - So Apparently Norway is rich while Denmark and Sweden are happy. The problem is, such a platformer wouldn't be very good because of the limitations of the touch screen, specifically that the controls would be awkward because of the lack of tactile feedback. The only real way to solve the problem would be to change the control scheme entirely, like in Rayman Jungle Run. (Maybe make it like the running stages in NSMB2? Idk)

Remember too that iOS 7 has support for controllers, so that would really help for this. I really hope they do make iOS games! Even just Super Mario Bros. would be awesome! |

Probably if they were to make a game for iOS, Mario Kart would be the best thing they could put on it. ____________________ You can tell I'm testing new avatars. Status: Totally didn't change this, nothing to see here. |

Posted by Silver They can just make something like Angry Birds Go, but make it not horrible (maybe just port a smaller version of MKDS or something....) ____________________ Former SMG2.5 Advertiser and one-time Level Designer/Artist - So Apparently Norway is rich while Denmark and Sweden are happy. Today's phones are at least twice as powerful in many levels than the 3DS...
But mobile games suck in general. I'd like to see what Nintendo would have to offer. |
