So this is the art I made to give the general concept and visual of what I have for this mission. As you can see, the level takes place in a large lake surrounded by cliff walls. The satellite has crash landed in the lake and is on its side, half underwater. The goal of what you see here is to reach that green pipe on the satellite to enter the second part of the level, which will be a 2D section of the satellite's interior that will feature many electric hazards.

Mario will land at point A in the art. He will have to collect 5 star chips to form a launch star that will take him to point D. At point D he will slide down the panel of the satellite, hopping over electric fences down to a something like a pull star that will bring him to the pipe (The satellite will have to be big enough to make sure that the pipe cannot be reached by jumping or that the pull star can be used from the water)

This art shows only 3 hidden chips, and the other 2 will likely be hid underwater. Underwater will be beautiful and will have many details not shown here. The examples of star chips I have are as follows:

-The underwater panel will have two fences like the other panel, but in between them will be a chip. Mario will have to swim between to prevent himself from being shocked.

-Point B will be reached by climbing up rock ledges on the cliff walls. At the top will be a small section with piranha plants, one being a purple plant with the chip.

-The treasure chest at point A will have a chip that can be grabbed by finding a koopa shell somewhere in the lake.

The comet medal will be reached by finding a hidden sling star in the lake. This sling star will take you to point C, where you can dive off the ledge and grab the medal.

So that's my basic outline for the first section of the mission. Please leave any feedback or questions and I'll be sure to update it soon.

-HP9

Well I think the entire area and the satellite should be much bigger, but it looks nice. I also think it'd be cool to have smooth, white, shiny rock ground, like the entire place is made out of polished marble.

I have the art style use dark bluish purple rocks similar to cosmic cove. Marble would look a bit strange

Nice satellite, HodgePodgeNine!

But Part B feels too random. Venus Electricity Traps would be a nice feature instead of Piranha Plants but that's not happening.

So instead, Fizzlits are the best enemies to use.

Erm...a giant satellite crash-landing completely intact in a small lake not big enough to fit it in...
Some debris everywhere would be better.
tbh it sticking halfway out of the water would look...meh...
The lake could be a LOT deeper (Sunken...) so it starts of like Cosmic Cove but with no enemies closer to the electrified satellite.
The satellite could be spread out along the lake bed, but with the main section still intact.

There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Of course, it's usually an oncoming express train.

Slow and steady gets you trampled by the other guys.

Oh yeah, Sunken. But since it is sunken, wouldn't the water have slowed down the impact, thus making most of the satellite intact?

I am going to bring this up again :P; electrified debris falling down a vertical tunnel that Mario must swim up. The top of the tunnel is sealed off by a metal fence gate that only the electrified debris can pass through since the debris are small.

This is just an idea amd mostly fits with the ideas in HP9's drawing above execpt here the satellite is upright and of course my ideas for the inside are different.

At the top Mario enters via the metal door from Sky Station's Bullet Bill planet (thanks to whoever brought that object up earlier in this thread). He falls into a room with some enimies, electrical hazards, and another door which does not open until all the enemies are defeated. Mario than goes through four more rooms like this one, each with two more enemies than the last and more hazards, but also an extra twist:

-room two has spikes that come out of the floor
-three has its floor split in to many sections of conveyer belts, each one moving in the opposite direction than the two it is next to.
-room four involves walking on the wall as well as the floor
-room five has all three, with spikes on the walls and convayer belts on the floor. Also, instead this time defeating the enemies reveals six Warp Pipes. One goes to the next section, one to a bonus room, and the other four just lead to eachother.

Now Mario is in a 2D area. He comes out of the Pipe on the ceiling and into the water below, because he has entered the underwater half. He swims downwards through this mazelike room, also moving left and right to find all the paths he can take and which is the right one. Still many electric hazards. There may be a puzzle or two to find the right path. At the bottom is the Power Star.

So what do you think?

Spikes moght feel a bit out of relevance. It would be difficult to think about a satellite contain spikes. Moving obstacles like metal platforms and stuff would fit better for a satellite.

Speaking of relevance, MC's old deaign had Piranha Plants which seem out of place in a galaxy centered about water and electricity. To me, Fizzlits would fit in some areas due to their electrical nature.

Well then okay, spikes could be someting else, like moving platforms as you suggested.

If the spikes were electrically charged prongs it would fit the theme.

Electrically-charged prongs? Okay, that works great.

So yeah.

Electrified spikes would be good to use in a cylindrical part of the satellite where Mario can walk all around. Think of it like the Big Wigglers planet at the end of Supermassive Galaxy. The gaps are replaced by the eletrically charged spikes. They should retreat so Mario will be able to cross them.

Assuming that the satellite fell from the sky, the water would be equivalent to concrete when the satellite hit it.
So, the satellite would be squashed and a little bit burnt at the front.
