As we all know, SMG2 uses music and sounds (Noooooooooooo...you don't say?).

But there are different files in the sound archive (AudioRes) for SMG2.
Here they are.

ActionSound
Holds at least ALL of the sounds that objects make in-game.

BGMParam
Holds all of the game's background music, and jingles.

Something interesting; it has a common parameter on it's section.
The parameters of these bgms:
105
100
95
92
72
70
125
115
85
75
67
68
76
66
65
73
80
40
30
69
88
50

Should find out what these do sometime.

JaiChord
This is probably the most interesting one.
Full of .cit files, AND the names of the files are SMG2's AST soundtrack.

BUT

There are SMG1 music file names in here too!
smg_ev_mutekistar_a.cit
smg_ev_pinch01.cit
smg_galaxy01_midi.cit
smg_galaxy14_midi.cit
smg_galaxy28_midi.cit
smg_ev_mutekistar_b.cit

Even cooler: The Ice Flower and Red Star sounds are here too!
smg_ev_fly_a.cit
smg_ev_fly_b.cit
smg_ev_ice_a.cit
smg_ev_ice_b.cit

These are really interesting. Should look into these soon.

JaiMe
Another file in AudioRes/Info.
This one has 2 files inside of it. defaultme.bme and metable.bmt
I don't know much about this file, but we should look, I guess.

JaiRemixSeq
ANOTHER new file type.
Inside has a file called defaultremixseq.brs
Another file to look into.

MultiBGMInfo
Stores multiple background music. (As the name says.)

There seems to be a ton of values, with the star chance music, title music, and galaxy music in here.
Also has entries like MBGM_SMG2_GALAXY_XX.
MBGM stands for "Multiple Background Music" as the file name says.

SoundIdToInstList
Has the entries in numerical order for their ID.
Contains sounds like S_K_MARIMBA_BELL and S_K_LOGO_SYNTH1 (etc)
3rd column seems to be going from a high value to a higher value for the next entry.

StageBGMInfo
StageBGMInfo shows all the needed music to play in the galaxy. It can have up to 4 entries in the bcsv for each galaxy.

ScenarioBGMInfo sorts out all of the music by the Scenario. It has a column to see which star it plays in (ScenarioID) and what music to play in that scenario.

SceanrioNo values:
0- Play 1 music for all stars.
1- Play only first star
2- Play only second star
3- Play only third star

Well this is all I can do right now. :3
Thanks!

Wow interesting, this will definitely come in handy for music changes n'stuff. Good job! :) Ill probably be using it for warp pipe music changes as well.

I found an object that changes music when you enter a different area, ChangeBgmCube. However, Whitehole doesn't list a paramter or property that determines which song is changed. For example, I'm looking at the one in Good Egg Galaxy for star 3 that changes the music when Mario lands on the two Bowser airships.

I already knew about ChangeBGMCube for a long time now.

Also, it doesn't read sound files. That's why it doesn't show.

Does Whitehole read the music ID for that object? How can I view/change it?

I'll be putting it in during Christmas break.

Blarg, are you really going to edit just ChangeBGMCube? It's SMG1 only so there would still be no way to alter SMG2 music.

Yeah, they probably have the same structure as midi files, but we can't open them. We don't even know how they work TBH.

I don't know what they actually for but they contain not much data (I think comparing with a midi)
