You know how the 2D Mario games had it so Mario could bounce off of a bullet bill? What if MN1 programmed it so it would work like that? I personally think it would be very interesting.

You don't in the first place? Also, that would be really hard in the first place to do since even a simple edit requires having a basic knowledge of the entire enemy programming, it's not that simple. I do think an escort part could fit well here, I know people hate it, but I love doing them.

I mean we could get away with one if we had to. I am one of those people who don't like it as well. Bullet Bills are good mainly for just dodging them.

The fortress has a flat plain beneath it. Since this is a base, wouldn't it be better to have a large runway-type blacktop or whatever beneath the runway? The flat planet with Spiked Sentry Beams, Rocky Wrenches, Chests, and a Koopa from Dreadnought is an example.

Yeah, I'm going to use a large section of that as the final section.
Still working on it, because it sucks as it is.

Inside, there are many walkways with railings on different levels, with grey platforms near the walls moving up and down between them. Blasters of varying sizes are arranged everywhere in rows, along with many Bowser flags. (Non-stationary) Enemies finally start appearing, with more on the lower walkways. Of course, the player could simply jump down over the railings, but as a key to the next area is held by a slightly enlarged Magikoopa on a lower walkway, Mario would have to go back up to get it.
(I’m out of ideas for this section, I’ll expand on it later)

Put more of that and you have the section in your design. Old Clockworks also has a lot of walkways. Basically, the walkways in Bullet Base would moving parts, enemies like Dry Bones and Magikoopas, and Bullet Bills and Banzai Bills coming at you in every direction.

So how about this:

Mario lands on an unusually large red Flip-Swap panel. There is a Launch Star trapped in glass where the blue panel would be. There are walls made of Brick Blocks forming a little maze on the red panel, so Mario can't just run over to the blue one. At the start point there is a Bullet Bill Blaster. Mario has to guide a Bill through the maze (which wouldn't be frustratingly long), and then jump and spin to make it onto the blue panel, and lead the Bill to the glass. However in the maze there enemies that Mario can only kill with a spin, tempting the player to perform spin and kill themselves.

I wonder if you could change the kcl of the bullet bill to work like that? you probably could split the top of the bullets kcl from the bottoms kcl and make the top one bouncy. Would it work? Yep, I'm going to try it out.

Only thing is that enemies are not objects. They have hardcoded collision boxes. Plus even then you couldn't kill the bullet bill, it would just explode and hurt you still. Derpppppppppppppppp.
I still stand by the idea that an escort mission would be terrible, but still fit in with the difficulty curve of world 4, since it's not hurting you THAT much, it's just super tedious xD

I just had a really weird dream about SMG... There was this galaxy with water planets, metal platforms and parts on the planets, and a bunch of bullet bills, amps, and undergrunt gunners. Any chance that that would be used?

That actually sounds way better IMO xD It kinda is repetitive, and that would be a much better name.

No. There was some water in the Bowser's Fierce Fortress (I think that's what it was called) but it definitely was not water themed.

Maybe we should do a water themed bowser level...If we have working water, that is.
