http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/12/weirdness_amazon_confirms_drone_air_delivery_service_for_2015
Amazon is planning to have drones deliver your packages, directly to your house, so it's much faster. I'd imagine it's also gonna be pretty expensive because it's using up fuel just for you, and apparently could take as little as 30 minutes o,o

That's pretty nice and It's very nice (dat sentence). However what if countries become too paranoid and think they're being attacked when they see them? But yeah still very nice. Can't wait to see how it will work! :)

But NWP I don't think it will be much more expensive than today's fastest/most expensive shipping options.

Still cool. Although in eventual future wars armies will probably create replicas of these that actually explode/contain guns for warfare. :P

Sorry, didnt read the article, my question might be in there. Will the package be dropped by parachute of something? Or actually lands or what?

There's a concept video in there, it explains it perfectly.
It drops it off on your porch by setting it down, and then flies off

Then it would have a drill attached to the bottom to go through the roof.

Probably outside the porch then.

Oh, nvm, i imagined the drones as airplane drones, like military ones, not the helicopter ones.

Did you completely forget that people already get stuff delivered to their door via UPS, or Fedex? or even the us postal service?

No, i didnt, but making a company send you an exclusive drone takes it to a whole new level. :P

That's bound to kill somebody, it will fly into a tree and land on your car.

The world's not ready for this kind of stuff yet. Imagine all the Mailmen that will lose their jobs to the "Mail Drone". Soon we won't make our food (Industry!), we won't drive ourselves (Automated cars, not the one the drone landed on), and eventually we won't have to think (Google Mind Helmet). The age of technology needs to be less automated, you don't need some presidential high-speed delivery system to deliver the crafting supplies your ordered online, when you could have crossed the street to borrow them from your elderly neighbor.

The poor animals that will suffer from this! Your cat will dislike it, so amazon decides to lift away your cat and you never see it again. Birds will ram into it, absolutely. Hundreds of disturbing drones will fly about the city, buzzing along, dropping valuables in fierce storms and be used to drop bombs on your house. They'll spy on you, criminals will shoot them down for loot, and the world will end.

This kind of technology should be use to deliver food and water to the starving, we already have everything we could possibly want.

Correction: Using this service only makes you impatient (if anything), not lazy.

Also it's natural that people are going to use this only on stuff that they can't buy/get otherwise. Buying something that you can get from a store nearby online sounds retarded. Who would do that? :P

Also SM64DS This can't be compared to automatically driving cars or mind helmets. Also I can't see this replacing any mailmen considering then you'd have to PAY tons of money each day to get your mail while a mailman would be free.

Basically you should only use this if you're rich, really impatient or need something urgently delivered for an important reason. I might use this if It's not too expensive and the thing I need would take a long time to deliver and I'd need it fast for some reason

At the speed that thing moves it would probably take 5 days.

Well, the point is that it would be used in areas near a warehouse. They obviously wouldn't send a drone halfway across the country.
