I am so happy at seeing this progress. Good job on importing the starting planet, NWPlayer123! It is really good that all the models are pretty polished. Sky High Galaxy is on its merry way to being finished.

Anyways, once I finish cleaning it all up and adding stuff to do on the start planet I'm going to release a beta on the Exclusive Board.

Eh, I have said main planet, and the 2 posted in multiple pictures in the concept art thread, imported, but I'm starting to feel a decline in motivation towards it, I think it's time to hand it off to someone else. StarLight, I'm looking at you, if you want something to do besides wait for coastline, which is on hold again because it's going to be a super pain to texture, if not done in blender, and IDK anybody who knows how, but I'll get that sorted out.
Like I said in Misty Peaks, I think I'm going to go on a design spree over the rest of fall break.

Did you try UV mapping or is the area to texture the same a complex closed surface?

After checking the level out myself, it looked as if the polygon count for the models and such were a bit low, to be honest. The rockets' sides look kind of odd, and the models look very dark on the bright background.

This is why smooth vertex coloring is your friend.

You are correct. The rocket has a low polygon count because you see it looks like a prism rather than a cylinder. The models seem dark to me because thet look like they need some gloss to be added. Specifically, the rocket needs some metallic luster.

Other than that, WOW! Just, WOW! the level creation process for this galaxy is going well so far. It is also nice that gilmaster63 has become interested in Sky High Galaxy because he has really busy lately. Keep up the good work!

Yeah, but wii hardware limits. It only looks polygonal in the first place because of the vertex shading.
We also can't really do shiny stuff or anything really since blah materials and TEV stages and all this other nonsense

There's no point. This galaxy is nowhere near complete, and no need to playtest at such an early stage.

Technically, you can, but you have to subdivide polygons and add vertex color.

So yea, there seem to be a lot of problems with it currently.

- The launch star path. It is messed up, and makes the landing look awkward

- The docks/plank thingies on the first planet only have collision on top

- The red...Thingies at the bottom of the main planet (The ones with holes) have no collision, it's possible to go through them by using clouds to reach it

- (No water, it's obvious)

- The planets are too close together, and having them all next to eachother in perfect order ruins the 'Galaxy' feel a bit.

- When wall-jumping off the fence, the planet on top of it covers the view of the player

- The comet medal is waaaay too easy to get, even for World 2.

- The fan needs to be a bit higher.

- The piranha plants are floating above the ground a tiny bit, and need flowers around them
