Ohyeah, Hightail falls was HELL when I played it the first time. Now it's my favorite galaxy in SMG2 :3

Well I was thinking a yoshi vertical platforming section to reach the top of the roller coaster

How would the rollercoaster look like? We need some concept art.

Full loop plus possibly some wide but sharp turns is what I'm thinking

Ok. I'm assuming that there isn't going to be anything that'll stop Yoshi from falling off the sides of the coaster track? :P

Most likely not, I doubt you could find an example of where that is true in a real life roller coaster

Solar Coaster Star 2
“Take on the Shooting Star”
Galaxy Description: The main planet in Solar Coaster Galaxy is quite large, for it is where the actual amusement park is set. The park has a star/sunny theme to it, with rides such as a Ferris wheel that looks like the sun, etc. (Maybe some animations?) The park is very colorful and busy, with many rides around the planet. In star one, there was a sign that said “Shooting Star still in building phase. Thank you for your patience.” In star two, that ride is now there, and it is BIG. However, the ride is extremely
high up, and cannot be reached.

Mario lands by the ride, and is met by a pink luma who says, “The Shooting Star is finally ready! For 100 coins, I’ll take you right up there!” Now, Mario must collect these 100 coins, which are scattered all around the park! They are on every ride, and some are very difficult to get. For example, Mario must ride the freefall and the Ferris wheel to get some of them. Once all of them are collected, the pink luma happily eats them. Then, he turns into the pink star we all know and love, taking Mario to the top of the roller coaster. At the top is a yoshi egg, and a gearmo who says, “Man, was this was a pain to engineer! At least we’re done…” Mario jumps on Yoshi and the ride is ready to begin. The way this coaster works is with the dash pepper. They are located on the track at places where Yoshi will have to rush to get them in time. Now, Yoshi eats his first pepper and the fun (or frustration) begins!
The first feature of the track is a steep drop, followed by a 90 climb once you reach the bottom of the drop. Then, the climb flattens out to a horizontal track at the top. However, this track is made up of the falling bricks from Hightail Falls! Yoshi sprints across, only to find more wooden track afterwards. This track makes a turn that leads to another drop that is not as steep. However, there are spiky plants from Tall Trunk’s slide scattered across the drop, so you must be careful at high speeds. At the bottom of the slope is a loop, but instead of completely looping, the upside down part stretches out, then twists to be upside right. This is where it gets dangerous. There are lines of fire across the track, which is again falling bricks! Yoshi has to jump while staying at a good speed. Then another drop leads to a cobra roll around a star (like, a realistic star). For those who aren’t roller coaster geeks like me that don’t know what a cobra roll is, here: Now the ride gets interesting… After the cobra roll the track leads into a tunnel made up of inversions. (Like this: )
Now, these inversions are surrounded by a glass tunnel, and when Mario goes through these inversions, the tunnel goes underwater! After a brief aquarium tour, the tunnel comes back up and lets Yoshi out onto a lake. However, big rocks, trees, and rotating fireballs act as obstacles for our dynamic duo. At the other end of this lake the water becomes like a track (similar to manta ray levels) The track of water goes up at a 90 degree angle, and turns while sideways. This turn leads to the descent back down to a horizontal plane. Then, a full loop made of water must be passed by Mario and Yoshi. Then, the final challenge: The watery tracks form sharp twists and turns. Along these twists and turns are electric fences that Yoshi must jump over. If you can survive even these, then the star is yours, for the track ends and the mission is complete.
Now, you may say that a player could simply cheat and swim, but we could make inevitable deaths occur when this happens. For instance, the water could be freezeflame water…… >:D
I get that the coaster description is odd and hard to follow, but I will draw the design if you like the ideas.

'Shooting Star' sounds like a very cheesy name xD Maybe something else?

Speedy Star
Subsonic Star
Supersonic Star

are a few names that I've thought of.

I don't think Dash Yoshi can make it through sharp turns. Also, put the images in [img] tags. They stretch the page >_<

Wow. That 100 coin thing...nobody thought of it before you. :o
Maybe there could be something like a minigame.
Can those bouncy drums move? If so, there could be a "minigame" with a moving drum, with a few coins along its path.

you could theoretically reimport the drum as a new object, it's only collision, so we could theoretically change the object to a path object
