A few days ago Apple released its latest version of its popular, closed, mobile operating system. It features a complete new layout and changes a lot in the iPhone and iPod universe.

To me it looks like wannabe Windows Phone with a sprinkle of Android on top.

What do you think?

I'm definitely not upgrading. I don't trust iOS 7 not to screw up my phone even more after iOS 6 removed Apple's much better version of the Youtube app and Google Maps.

I'm definitely not upgrading either, since it makes the apps and layout look like bullshit. And yeah like MN1 I also don't trust Apple a lot either :P

I mean why did they have to change the look? It just looks horrible :(

I actually don't have iOS 7, but I jailbreaked a theme in there.

You know what? I actually like the look a lot more than I thought I would. It's quite easy to get used to. I'm definitely upgrading once I get a newer iPod Touch.

Sure, it looks like a wannabe Windows Phone/Android. But it works and looks nice and that's all anyone should ask.

I wonder how true is that :P

Since I never used an ipod extensively. (and probably never will)

I have got say, iOS 7 does look cool. I ain't upgrading because I am still using iOS 5 for the reasons Marionumber1 said about iOS 6. Also, Mobile Safari still does not allow uploading.

Behold, the man who will, beyond any reason, berate Apple products with redundant, unspecified arguments that also apply to the article which he is trying to defend.

You seem to hate things because of popular opinion rather than experiencing them yourself. Please refrain from causing pointless grief to people who have opinions different than your own.

EDIT: I know I'm just a butthurt fanboy, but you should acknowledge that fanboys get butthurt over trival, irrational things such as this. :P

I could give many reasons of preffering android over ios. I just dont want to make a whole list, i dont have the time or the energy to do it :P

The simplistic ui is very similar to the criticized metro ui in windows, with big color contrast. Other features in the new version of the os dont seem to be all that great either. And i still dont see reduced limitations and restrictions of YOUR OWN DEVICE by apple.

Well, mine is jailbroken. I can't stand most anything until it's modded in some form. :P It just gets rid of all restrictions. And once that's gone, I find them to be very well-made and stable devices that are rather easy to develop for.

But I do see where you're coming from.

Same here, and that's why I'm not updating. Restrictions are annoying.

Yeah, but jailbreaking and voiding your warranty shouldnt be the answer. Full control over the device you paid $700 for should be granted to you as soon as you buy it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought Android devices had a closed-market software distribution system as well. Besides that, what restrictions in particular are you referring to?

No, you can actually still download any app from the internet, without having to access the play store.

Restrictions... Well iTunes is a big pile of shit.

iTunes has pretty good content. But you're right about being able to DL from anywhere. That would be nice.

Not at all.
It depends on the device; some have a modified android OS, but you can always install stock android (or any other less restrictive version) on it.
Whenever that voids the warranty, I dunno.

If you root your android phone your warranty will be voided. But the base phone os for android is much less restricted than ios.
