Please don't work on another one. Nobody can "reserve" a galaxy, and your ideas being contributed are good ones!

Oh really? Ok then, I guess I'll continue working on this one.

NWPlayer123 and GeometricExpuldion are working design. I am not sure how far along it is though.

Oops. I think someone told me it wasn't taken. Oh well, I'll work on a different one then.

Yeah, in my eventual design that I was fleshing out, you'd need to go to several planets to get it long enough, and if they're big enough and encourage exploration, it would be way too long, which may or may not be good.
Yu have given me ideas though, which is always good.

I think exploration is always a nice feature, but if you're going to encompass exploration on all 4 planets, make sure you're able to continually access all 4 planets (as the main point of exploration is to go anywhere you want, essentially) so maybe have like sling stars that cycle through the planets or something.

(This would make a great purple coin level, I think. I played through SMG1 with the exploration purple coin levels (beach bowl, honeyhive, etc.) and they're much more fun than speed-based ones. A lot more fun.)

Noes, the more ideas the better. Make your own design with your own ideas, whether someone else is making one or not. Even if they do share ideas, that shows that that's something the final design should have. I was going for having this giant tree planet in the middle of the galaxy, and half of it is based on spring, and half on fall, and the seasons have gotten messed up. Star 2 would have the seasons be summer and winter. There'd also be some planets on said half of the galaxy exploiting mechanics from galaxies based around said season. Like for summer, having those crabs and a swimming section. For winter, some kind of maze with the blizzard effect and something with skating on ice. Feel free to use any of those ideas if you want :P

You did have a good start with your drawing, kayybee. As Geo said, your plarys design needs a little bit of work.

A polished and smaller version of kayybee's planet would be the right size for the galaxy.

Huh, a stonehenge-like thing would be cool, especially since Stonehenge was likely used as a calendar.

I think someone brought up the ideas of catdonal directions with each season representing a direction in the Still-Life Galaxy threads or somewhere. A revised version of kayybee's planet with a Stonehenge-like structure would make a great Main Planet in my opinion.

Oh! So maybe, the first star would have the seasons in order and you have to solve the puzzle or something, and the second one, the main planet is rearranged or something, and as you travel to the mini-planets, the are a mix-up of elements, like there are those beach crabs in autumn, and there'd be those frozen balls of whatever in the middle of spring. Something like that to show a mix-up of seasons. Maybe we could have a boss, which belongs to one season, but with a battlestage of another season?

*ahem* Sorbetti in Autumn/Fall *ahem* :3

Idk, maybe this isn't the best place for a boss...

Or Sorbetti on a beach?

And we can have like that mole guy in ice or something? idk really

Personally, I feel that Sorbetti or the Mandibug Duo would be the only fitting bosses. The rest I agree with Geo that bosses may not really fit in Season Cycle.

Also, Sorbetti on a beach would be wierd because he is meant more for snow and ice. Going with what GeometricExpulsion said, Major Burrows would be unfitting for Season Cycle Galaxy.

AFAIK, we're not using Sorbetti in any galaxies yet... so possibly? IDK, leave that one up to NWP :P

A retextured Sorbetti was going to be used in Foggy Bog, iirc.

Well that's retextured, we still want to use the original, just like we want to use normal Megahammer elsewhere....I mean, SPOILERS.

On this Galaxy, the main planet could be based on a compass, in which each cardinal direction would represent a season, relative to the lesser planet they were pointing at. As a transportation method, the Sling Star might feel a bit more appropriate. On this setting, there could be a silver star hunt, and still on the center planet, there could be a structure the player would have to climb to ultimately reach the fifth one, which could resemble both the Stonehenge in design and the Buoy Base tower in platforming.

Edit: Instead of a Silver Star quest, the Stonehenge-ish tower could be partially destroyed, and the player would have to complete missions on each season area to unlock higher areas on the structure and visit other separate planets, in order to get to the very top. Maybe a sign could be left on the starting spot and a Star Bunny freed on the topmost chamber.

Oh, speaking of bunnies, even though I hate (timed) bunny chases, maybe there could be a circular planet with four different seasons as quadrants, and a bunny chase on there. (Just a suggestion, even though I don't really like it)

The bunnies are a good idea, plus I could make specialized trees and other random stuff for the different seasons

I think some enemys like the bugs could be in the Autum sections in the spring maybe more piranha plants
and maybe you can change the season with an lever, I mean when you are in the summer seaction there is somewhere
a lever that you can activate and than change the hole water from this planet to ice.

We haven't really discussed the seasons' themes, I have some design ideas for Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.

I also have a design idea for Star one, and a secret mission.

Star 1: Shining Star on the highest bough.

Mario lands in a flower field in Spring, Spring is a garden area with a star bunny chase. Before the chase starts, the Star Bunny will say "Mama entrusted me with the path to Summer. I will give it to you. But you have to catch me first!"

This is like any Star Bunny race, find the bunny, and chase it until you catch it.

However, Mario will be hindered by Undergrunts, Mandibugs, Flipbugs and Piranha Plants.

But what makes this part unique, is that Mario will be Bee Mario for the race.
Avoiding honey and rain clouds as he attempts to catch the Star Bunny.

After catching the Star Bunny it says, "Ugh, you are too fast for you own good! But you caught me, so here you go." A Launch Star will now appear, taking Mario to the Summer Planet.

Summer is a beach, where Mario or Luigi must dive deep to find the
sunken ship, which is guarded by multiple enemies, such as Gringills.

Inside this chest is a Gold Shell, that Mario must utilize to break open multiple chests that contain star chips.

Once all star chips are found, a launch star will appear, leading Mario to the Fall area.

Fall is a Haunted Woods that features a climbable giant tree, and a Yoshi section with Bulb Berries.

These could be used to find hidden platforms needed to climb to the top of the tree, where an Undergrunt Gunner awaits.

This Undergrunt Gunner is equipped with a electric cannon. Mario or Luigi will ride Yoshi to reach him. [As he will be too high for Mario or Luigi to reach.]

He is soo high up, that Mario will need to jump off Yoshi mid-flotter jump in order to get to his glass dome weak-point.

But, he will also have to avoid a barrage of electric shots, which will damage him, and cause him to lose his Yoshi.

After he defeats the Gunner, he will be rewarded with a launch star, which leads him to Winter.

Winter is a Small snowy Village, Mario can enter the houses to find all sorts of things. One of these houses contains a star.

Mario can't get there right off the bat though.
He must locate the secret entrance to the large house.

In order to reach this entrance, he must find find blue star chips within the houses to activate a pull star path.

The pull star path will lead Mario to an ice lake.
He must use a Ice Flower to cross it, while avoiding enemies.
On the other side of the lake is a Cannon.

Mario will use this cannon to reach the roof of the big house. [There is a target on the roof.]
He will then jump down the chimney.

Inside the house is a Christmas tree with the Toad Brigade gathered around it, there is also a Power Star on top of the tree.

Secret Boss: Sorbetti.

Mission Name: Sorbetti's Inferno.

In a certain house in the Winter Village, there is a Toad that exclaims "It's too cold! Colder than usual, maybe I should check the furnace downstairs."

This is actually a hint that Sorbetti is inside his furnace.

Tp reach her Mario must find a switch hidden behind a bunch of boxes upstairs.
Ground-Pounding the switch will cause a warp pipe to appear.

If Mario takes this warp pipe it will lead to the basement, containing a couple of Scuttlebugs, and another warp pipe to enter the furnace.

Mario then will use a Ice flower to skate across the lava.

After he makes it to a large circular metal platform, Sorbetti will appear.
The fight is much more difficult this time, as there now will be lava spouts randomly appearing.

To keep Sorbetti from ending up in the lava a small metal fence will be put up. [Not too big, but big enough so Mario ca jump over it, and Sorbetti can't escape it.

After defeating sorbetti, Mario will be rewarded with a Power Star.

The star bunny chase with Bee Mario probably would not be a good idea because I don't think you can long jump.

No. Long jumps are screwed because the bunny would hop farther from your straight-restricted long jump.

Also, I have an idea for Star 2 but I can't post progress until Friday.

So you think, a Bee Mario Star Bunny chase is a good idea?

Actually, using long jumps to catch Star Bunnies, isn't really a good idea anyway.

How will using the Bee Mushroom be forced upon the player? I imagine that the Star Bunny will be on a raised platform so that the player must obtain it to initiate the race, but there's also other flaws with the design. If Mario loses his power-up either through rain, water, or other hazards, what's the penalty? Wouldn't it be easier for the player if they just lost the power-up immediately? There isn't much wrong with the Summer segment, so you're fine as far as that goes. What will exactly make the forest in the Autumn section "haunted"? There was no mention of boos being enemies, so I think that just having dead trees would be a better fit without having to be in a haunted theme. Another thing: once you reach the undergrunt cannon, I'm assuming that you must make a jump over a pit to reach him. The thing is, if you get hit, will you just be knocked back all the way down to the base of the tree, or will there be a bottomless pit so that you always end up dying. As for the Winter section, I'm pretty sure that doors don't work in Super Mario Galaxy 2. They'd basically just have to be houses with warp pipes outside of them, I don't know what else could work.

I was thinking of a haunted woods theme for fall, because, fall is the season when people celebrate Halloween.

As for the Undergrunt Gunner battle, I was hoping that all you had to do to get to him was to do a Yoshi suicide jump. I also wanted no way to fall off the tree.

However, Magikoopas or Boos could be place to add some challenge.

Mario wouldn't be knocked back very far, because he would get zapped and stay in place.

There were houses you could crouch to get into, maybe these would work, if they were enlarged of corse.

For the Spring Bunny Chase, the player could lose Bee Mario before the race.

To make the player lose Bee Mario, there will be a unavoidable shallow water section before the race.

But, Bee Mario will be used for the fist part of the area.
