Being inside a giant motor? That'd be pretty cool, actually!

With Star 1 almost done being modeled, I think it is time for me to start thinking about concepts for Star 2. I think Star 2 should use at least a least a couple Nintendo consoles snd definitely the Wii. So, here is the prototype Wii Remote from SMG1, as a reference:

And of course, the unused game discs in Pikmin 2:

hm, that LM1 disk might fit in, but I'm not sure about the SMS one. Isn't this suppose to be a darker galaxy? Having something as bright as that might look bad.

Just a notice: Star 2 is set in cyberspace

Imagine platforming on a transformer like on the one planet in Space Storm. Also, cables connect the transformer planets like the worm in Gusty Garden.

It was mentioned previously that, this galaxy being mainly just circuitry an sorts, that the levels would be loosly based on the circuitboards of Nintendo consoles.

If we're going down the cyberspace/circuitry route (which I don't see why we shouldn't)... I decided to make this.

Yes, I know it's just a MS Paint job, but it's just to give an idea as to the colours and theme in the level, that I'd like.

1.
Most of the image is quite self-explanatory, so I won't need to write much here. But basically, Mario starts at the beginning (where the star is) and goes an talks to Bill Board, who says something like "Watch out for those green(cyber/darker/whatever) areas of the ground! Otherwise, you'll get a nasty shock!"

2.
So yeah, Mario has to platform across those disappearing platforms with amps circling (or squaring?) them. If he falls into the green, he gets shocked, same if he touches an amp... obviously :P

3.
Then, as you can see, a few Mecha-Koopas in the next area. Mario can choose to kill them or just ignore them, taking care not to touch that green part (yes, it's not just for decoration, it's for a challenge.) There are star bits to the side of the second "section", if you like. There could be less in the final cut, but hey.

3b.
Another note: these amps are moving relatively fast in the next section. Think Space Storm Star 2, but slightly slowed down so that it's actually physically possible.

4.
Anyway, Mario gets to the next area and the Red Topmen suddenly appear. Mario has to kill all three of them to get to the launch star. He has to take care not to step or get knocked into the green bits also. If he does, there are coins and a 1-Up mushroom to the right of him that will replenish his health. So yeah, the launch star appears and Mario hops over the red electric and sends himself zooming into space.

i.
A couple more notes here: if possible, I'd like it if the orange bits were conveyor belts moving the player backwards, but I know that that's not fully possible quite yet.

ii.
Also there's the matter of scale. Just how big is this planet? As you may have noticed, this drawing is not exactly completely to scale. I would imagine Mario to be the size of this diagram's Bill Board... possibly a little bit bigger.

5.
This planet's purpose is to introduce (or perhaps remind) players how they can use electricity in Mario Galaxy. That is shown in the electric barriers to the side, the electrified green sections on the floor, using the electric to your advantage to kill Topmen and (if we are able to do it) the motorized orange conveyor belts at each side of the planet.

Fin:
Obviously this art is much to be desired but I was wondering what you guys might think about a planet like this? Would it fit here? Would it fit somewhere else? Is it too difficult? Too easy? Some feedback would be most appreciated :)

Thanks for reading this design disguised as a wall of text and I can't think how to end this. So... yeah. Thanks.

Looks good, though it could use some tweaking.
